O.k. So Here's the deal. The swift recruiter contacted me after they got my license info and did a background check on me back in 2005 when I was driving from Camp Lejeune,NC I got 4 different charges for having my break light out after getting pulled over.I only got convicted of one for a $25 court fine for driving without any insurance, the rest were dismissed. Will SWIFT not hire me because of that conviction?

    I can't answer that question.

But I can state, if they won't. You're better off for it. ANY company that fails to hire you on that information...isn't worth working for.

When I talked to my recruited I had 2 tickets from back in 2003, he pretty much told me if its not a felony, and I didnt kill someone or have a DUI, not to worry about it.

Doah! All I saw was the typical 'don't do it' reply given without reasons and responded. Talk about following the blind!:biggrin_2559:

Well I just quit Swift Thursday (4/8/10) to move on to bigger and better things. I can tell you that for me their "famous reputation" did not hold true. I was treated pretty well during my time with them. Yes, freight was slow on occasion and most of their shops left a good deal to be desired. But, they seldom messed with my money (the few times I was shorted etc a quick call to payroll help desk solved the oversight quickly) and they stood behind any promises made to the best of their ability.

I would have no problems recommending them to anyone starting out in the business. Most people judge Swift by their failures only (which EVERY company has) and not the positive things about to company and/or drivers. But that's human nature I reckon.

Yepp, I noticed the OP was back in 2008 but figured I would add my actual experience with them and not just let the "usual conventional wisdom" on them go unchallenged.
