Us guys??? I'm in the Northwest. Our DC works like a well tuned Swiss clock. That's why they took one of our DMs to FL.

Come on now you are way smarter than that.. I mean you guys as in Swift in general. From what I was told by Wally World dc manager.. was this was the worst start up they have had so far.. Like I said I hope you guys get it caught up and fixed as I don't like Florida.

Had to clean up the mess left behind at the same time as keep everything rolling. GreatWide was not happy about the situation. (Can't say as I can blame them for that.) Some problems had to be dealt with in a rather severe manner. It certainly doesn't help when dispatch is being done from a remote location. I'm not exactly sure why we aren't on site at those locations.

Also, I don't think Ocala was prepared for the intense work involved in dealing with four DCs being added all at once. It was a sloppy turnover to be sure. But I do believe it will smooth out in fairly short order.

I remember it took Prime almost three months to iron out all the details at the Lewiston, ME DC. It was a matter of getting the right team together. I expect it will take the same thing in these four new ones.

It's definitely simpler when offices are set up on site. Hopefully, that can happen. Then, each DC will run independently of the others.

I think he's saying some of our more stellar drivers are making good on their aim.

Yeah as of Weds they have had 3 major incidents (not accidents) but Wal Mart related (dc manager wasn't clear on what they were he was venting). Terminals were 2 1/2 days behind on loads, which isn't suppose to happen with Wal Mart and the drivers (most of which at this time are not swift full time drivers but are temps and once again this is what I was told by Wal Mart D C manager) had hit 5 stop signs and 4 yellow poles and Bentonville is very upset with the start up.. Is this swifts fault well sort of is it Greatwides fault not at all.. Most of the blame lies with Wal mart for the way they handle these situations.. If Werner or Greatwide were called in to Roberts La tomorrow alot of the same issues would occur and it is due to the fact wal mart allows for very little margin of error and expect perfection.. all the time

Yep. POS drivers. We have 'em too and they appear to be congregating in Florida.

Its not just your drivers though.. I mean that is alot of it.. but dispatch is stinking from what I hear and Wal Mart kind of wanted Greatwide driving off the lot and Swift just driving on it and start pulling loads.. Wal Mart should have phased it over the slowest days.. Let Greatwide pull the Dairy/Deli stuff that day.. and Swift come in and pull dry and Meat and produce the same day.. and told greatwide to take a hike... (its not like greatwide wouldn't have done it they want to keep in Wal Marts good graces too)

    The Challenger Thanks this.
