At the Moberly DC, the planners and Dispatch does not even get the paperwork. It stays with Wal-Mart. When the trailer is pulled in placed in the ready line, then we are told what trailer, then go to the Wal-Mart window, sign for our load, then go get the trailer, and next stop, guard shack.

Evidently people are quitting left and right. They are pulling in lots of OTR drivers to help sift through this mess. I am in SWFL right now. I have seen no day cabs rolling Walmart trailers.
Interesting they want drivers to move there, yet not pay for the move. -
*Rug* To move where?

Sounds like the sales department was a whole lot better at what they do than the logistics department has been getting the resources in place. That won't go over very well. Heck, even Captain Kirk knew that he might want warp speed, but if Scottie only has impulse power, well, that's all he's got.

RT,
Thats BS and you know Swift has day cabs doing the account. I see a couple every single day. They are either Freightliner Columbias or Volvo VNL VN64T300's. They are brand spankin new and you can tell this because they have square shaped fuel tanks that are rounded off on the sides.

There's a reason I have him on ignore. Seems all he knows how to do is spread misinformation from rumors he heard from his mentor (who is NOT the be-all and end-all of information on Swift, as I have demonstrated numerous times in the past) or from "friends" who are not even remotely connected to the subject at hand.
My DM just returned from trying to help straighten that mess out. Seems GreatWide drivers were going to take a pay cut regardless of whether they kept the account or not. They were losing money like throwing it into a burn barrel by somehow managing to pay drivers $1,500 for a 1,800 mile week. The loads weren't being done the way Walmart wanted them and they had the nerve to ask for more money. GreatWide left a mess behind. Such is the arrogance of an entity that thought it was locked into a contract.
There are company drivers wanting to be on the account. It pays the same in Florida, including stop pay, that it pays everywhere else. This account does not pay stop pay for the first store delivery or the return to the DC. It pays for the second and any subsequent store or backhaul stop.Last edited: Oct 11, 2011
