I cant stand when people dont practice what they preach, and try and pretend to be something they are not. This is swift Wouldnt reccomend this company to my worst enemy. I could write a book on here about the BS Ive been through. Any considering to go with these guys I wouldnt waste your time you'll be just another number to them and god forbid you get stuck with a crappy mentor and want a new one or get a mentor who rejects you and makes stuff up about you because he is one of those "christian hypocrits" Not worth the bs. If any one has any questions about any of this feel free to send me an IM Id be happy to respond.

P.S Decatour GA, the hotel they use is infested with bed bugs and skin MItes. Look it up on the net true story.

Swift wouldn't be my first pick but to some Swift is ok.
Swift to many is a start up company and sometimes they may be the only ones chance to get in otr .
If i had to (if they would take me) i would get my 1-2 years of otr so i could get into a better company.
Besides there are just as many that like Swift as that don't like them.
Yes they are big and when you are as big as Swift there will be quite a bit of negative as well as positive but most don't listen to the positive just the negative.
I talked to a Swift driver after i punched out at the warehouse last week and he has worked there 6 years and liked it ,so to each their own:biggrin_25515:

Well, I had a pretty good mentor. He has been with Swift for over 6 years, and he has no plans to leave.

I have been solo for 2 weeks now. I am based in Fontana, but flew out to Denver for my truck.
I was told that I would head straight back to SoCal to get the rest of my stuff (I could only pack a small bag for the flight).
    Didn't happen.

I ended up going up and down in the western states several times before I could finally get back home, but here I am at home.

I won't go into every detail, but so far my time with Swift has been positive. Sure, I was routed up and down and sideways and back, I had to do laundry more often, been on the same pair of jeans the whole time, had to buy basic stuff like a blanket and pillow, docked 2 points for a high idle ratio because I have been in freezing weather most of the time without even a sleeping bag to keep me warm...

But I also ran ~2,700 miles this past week - which will make for a decent paycheck next week.

Plus, I have a very nice DM. When I finally got back down to the LA area she made sure I got load into San Diego so I could bobtail home. And, she didn't put any time restrictions on my home time. She asked me when I wanted to come back on duty, and adjusted my PTA accordingly. She actually felt like she owed me - not the other way around - and she was very appreciative of my understanding attitude!

Both my DM and FM have shown a regard to me personally.

But, we are truck drivers - and we go where and when the loads are. So when I was in Fontana last week but didn't have a load to San Diego, I accepted a load to Utah (with the promise by the planners to get me back home ASAP). It took several days, but it happened. And I got a good load in the mean time (dead-heading 430 miles up to Wyoming, then back down to Commerce (after turning down a load straight back to the LA area because the delivery time would conflict with my 10), which gives me a good income this week.

    So, to each his/her own.
My experience with Swift has, so far, been a positive one.
