Swift disrespects its drivers...

    I have worked for only 3 months for swift and I can't wait to go elsewhere. There is such a profound disrespect of drivers by just about every non-driving employees.
    Driver Managers are mean ######## for the most part, few exceptions. They talk to you with such a condescending tone, its appalling.
    The worst are the two biggest dicks at the Jonestown terminal, at the device desk... nasty ######## who know they have leverage on drivers.
    There are some really good people too but in such small number, it doesn't even matter anymore.
    I was wondering why they had such an aggressive recruiting program. I know why now! They squizz the crap out of the drivers until they quit and they always have a line of new recruits ready to take over any available truck.
    I have talked to many swift drivers over my travels, they all say the same thing, they are mistreated and can't wait to move on...

    When they are talking down to you what kind of conversations were they having. Were they explaining policy, or basic HOS stuff, or what? That could go a long way to understanding why you feel like you're being talked down to. Certainly in your first 3 months they should be more supportive, but if it's been the same conversations over and over to the same driver attitudes can take a turn for the worse.

    Whatever you do don't let them know it's getting to you. Try killing them with kindness. With that said, you are a rookie and I don't care who you drive for or what industry you work in rookies do not get respect. Period. It's a time honored way to weed out the weak ones. Don't be one of the weak ones. Come on here and vent. Don't vent to the company it won't do any good. They could care less if you quit or not. There's a constant influx of newbies to take your place. Suck it up, stick it out, get your year in then look for greener pastures. Don't be a job hopper.

    I've never had the slightest issue with either of them, I would call them both very good people. I've sat and had lunch with the daytime guy and talked about hiking and Yellowstone and flooding and on and on. I wonder how much of the problem is you.
