I am a Walmart driver at 49cpm, currently. We will be getting a raise, too.

Save every penny of your raise.
It's only a matter of time before the new .38 cpm
cheap drivers Out number you old timers.
Then you'll be starved out the door.
That's how these things work in trucking.
And they won't pay a lick of unemployment either.

You can be in denial if you want.
Just keep your resume updated and close by.
Your gonna need it sooner than you think.
    I'm not hating on you.
I'm just going off past results.

This is a battle of attrition between Walmart and
The drivers at the top end of the pay scale.
    That's you.
I got my money on Walmart.
They no eventually there gonna squeeze all of you out.
    One way or another.

I was hired into the Wally account, I started at 49cpm. I am far from an old timer, less than a year experience. I am still wet behind the ears, a rookie, a newbie.

They already outnumber us. That does not mean our jobs are any less secure.

I'm wondering what 'past results' you are talking about.
Is it with Swift, or other places?
Because here, if I were to be starved out because I made a little more than the new people it would have happened long ago.

I've been here 7 years, and my old mentor had 6 in when I was with him.
He is still here as well, and making more than me. Wouldn't he have been starved out by now, if what you say is true?

Old timers are safe and reliable, else there would be fewer of us.
    Swift values that.

Are you a Swift driver doing a Walmart account with Swift or a Walmart company driver?

Ok, I think that other guy thinks you are a Walmart company driver and is referring to them. That Walmart is squeezing out their own drivers which I think is true but that is good for you and other Swift drivers.

On a different note, I live near Syracuse. What's the deal on the Walmart dedicated with Swift out of Johnstown?

    - What type of schedule are you on
    - Radius of where you deliver to
    - What type of deliveries do you do
    - Avg miles per week and is there other pay involved such as stop pay etc...

    Thanks

We travel northern PA, NY, NJ, MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME. And Long Island.
We are paid $15 per stop after 1st . Most runs have 3 stops. $10 to move a trailer, so we can dock.
We run our 70 out each week, home for reset.
We run reefer and dry loads. Dry loads are 95% D/H Reefer loads are 100% live unload. (we "supervise" all unloading)
I average 2,200 miles per week.

    JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this.
