Let me get this straight. 2200 miles a week at .49 cpm running the nightmare northeast using up your 70 hours. So your gross with the stop pay is around $1100-1200 weekly? Which is around $16 an hour straight time. To me just seems like you're underpaid. Correct me if I'm wrong,

Trucking is my 2nd career after retiring from my first. In my 1st career field the spread between starting pay and top pay was a $20,000 per year difference that took 5 years to reach. Since I retired changes were made and it now takes 7 years to reach the best pay. With experience came more opportunities and favorable working conditions IF you proved yourself and wanted it. Why is or should trucking be any different? Because some miserable, bitter person who does nothing but ##### and cry on these forums says so?
Everyone starting out new in every career field starts at the lower end of the pay scale and works their way up either thru longevity at the company they started with or by finding a job somewhere else after they've gained experience and yes proved yourself.
Every time you leave a company and go somewhere else you are starting over again and have to prove yourself again to your new bosses and / or co-workers no matter how much time you are coming in with. The acceptance curve will be quicker with more experience but you still are not accepted fully until you've proved yourself to the new company. Anyone who thinks otherwise will probably have problems anywhere they go and have plenty of reasons to ##### and cry.Last edited: Apr 9, 2018
