Top five eh? Apparently you have a running list. Care to share the other four as an object of comparison?

But, it's not an officer coming in to KILL your animal, but to take it into custody.
Because, I might add, that the owner had little responsibility for in the first place.

And you wouldn't kill anything "except those whom attempt to hurt me or mine"?
How about those living plants that you kill each day to eat? How have any of them attempted you harm - or tried to eat you or one of your own?
Or don't you consider ALL life as sacred?
Are you really so sure those plants you consume in such quantity are not as sentient and self aware as any animal others consume?
This planet we live on is an entity unto itself, after all. Every living thing on it may be as aware and sentient as any other - and that includes the plant life.

    Get off your high horse.
It really doesn't suit any intelligent thinking being.

Anything devoid of a central nervous system or the means to interpret signals from that system i.e; a brain, is incapable of feeling pain or being aware it exists. I know this because if you put your hand, or any animals paw by a fire, that creature pulls away and makes noises of discomfort. You know what happens when you put a plant in a fire? Nothing. It burns. Doesn't try to move away or make any noise. Again, without the wiring or the "computer" to interpret signals from said wires, an object has no ability to decode outside stimuli. And are you really going to argue over weather or not plants feel pain? I love that argument. It's the last ditch effort by all flesh eaters in an attempt to say we are hypocrites. Let's say you are right, which we both know you aren't, do you know that we could end world hunger if everyone went to a vegan diet? The majority of the worlds crops are fed to the animals which we slaughter and consume. Do you have any clue as to how much water it takes to keep the 60 BILLION land animals we murder each year hydrated?

I agree, the owner made a mistake. Who amongst us have not? Should an animal suffer due to an irresponsible owner? If the dog was mean and bit someone or attacked a child, it would be a different story. The dog did not. It just happens to be one of the breeds we, in Amurica deem unworthy of existing because of stereotypes of typical pit bull owners. If you agree about banning certain breeds of dogs, then you can't disagree with banning certain types of weapons. Because according to a person who believes this, it's not the person responsible for those things, it is the things themselves that cause the harm.

High horse? You bet your bippy. Just as a person who does not rape and murder people is better then one who does, a person who lives a cruelty free life, devoid of the participation in the murder, rape and torture of innocent animals is also better then one who does. I take pride in my lifestyle choice. I sleep like a baby at night. And when I pet my dogs and cats and tell people I'm an animal lover, I can do so without being a lying hypocrite.

That rack of BBQ pork ribs I grilled earlier were great!!! Tender meat fell right off the bone. I will sleep great tonight because I don't give a hoot about what the pig had to go through as long as it keeps tasting so darn good.
I even let my dog have some and she loved it. Does this make me a animal lover or hypocrite? What does it make my dog? Lol

Trying to get a rise out of me. Typical of modern humans in this country. Adults who act like kids on the playground. Your dog is a carnivore and meant to eat meat. Humans are herbivores and not meant to eat meat. If we were, we could chase animals down and kill them with our claws and big teeth. Then eat them raw. And the products from animals which we consume wouldn't kill or hurt us. Cholesterol, osteoporosis, hypertension, acid reflux, lactose intolerance, diabetes, etc. "God gave us a brain to make weapons to kill". He didn't give us the natural ability to hunt. He also gave us a brain to understand that we don't need to kill animals to survive. Maybe at one time we did. But not any more. And how many of you actually kill the animals you eat personally? Aside from a deer or two you hunt, I'd bet the majority of your meat is killed by others. Which is even more pathetic then the hypocrisy. Not being ugly here. Just speaking truth.

And have you ever saw what a pig goes through to get that rack of ribs? I mean really saw the entire process? How they smash the babies heads on the concrete floor who are too small? How the take the babies from their mothers and leave the mothers to spend their short lives in these tiny crates barely big enough for them to lay down? Then transport them in ungodly weather conditions where a lot of them either freeze to death or die from heat stroke? Would you want that done to your dog? A pig is smarter then a dog. Fact. And they're pretty darned cute too. If you don't want it done to your dog, why on earth would you not care how it's done to a pig? Or a cow? Or a chicken? It's insanity. People don't make that distinction and I can't comprehend why?

I hear that dog meat is also quite delicious. I bet human meat could be delightful if cooked properly as well. Why not eat our own? Plenty of dead humans to eat. Plenty of dogs die every day in this country. What's the difference? They're all made of meat.

Guys lets focus on saving this dog.

Years ago when I joined this website someone made a joke that is sad but true of truck drivers:

Put 2 truckers in a room with 14 hookers and you know what you can expect ? The two truckers to screw each other over. This thread is a classic example of it. Here we are trying to save this dog and all people want to do is bicker about stupid ####. :biggrin_25526:

Actually, as the Bible describes it, we were plant eaters at first.
It wasn't until later that we became meat eaters.
That was also meant to be so.

The fact is, we kill other life to survive. Period.

VeganTrucker, you justify killing something to survive by a technicality.
"Anything devoid of a central nervous system or the means to interpret signals from that system i.e; a brain, is incapable of feeling pain or being aware it exists."

But you can not really be sure that the wiring you deem necessary to awareness is not there in another way.

In the end, you kill living organisms to keep yourself living.
You are no better than any meat eater, because you consume the living to continue living yourself.

If you were really so idealistic as to not consume anything that even MIGHT be aware of its own existence - you would have to simply stop eating anything but rocks and die.
But then, can we be sure the rocks don't have some kind of awareness?
Doesn't the Bible also mention that 'the rocks will cry out'?

Just because something doesn't fit in to your framework of 'alive', doesn't mean it can't be so.

Huh? ... I was forest fire fighter in my youth and to this day I'm still haunted by the scream of the trees as they went up in flames ... helpless in their terror, as they were incapable of escaping the flames.
