In what way "way better than that...?" In another post, Fewe wrote, "Swift is a good choice from my experience. They have their problems like all companies but they are good about hometime and have plenty of miles. As long as you treat the job like a JOB and run the load and make ontime p/u and del. they will keep you moving."
Am I missing or misreading something? One sounds good, one sounds not good.

I bet you go to the T/A forum they will tell you, "come to T/A!! Forget Swift!"
-
If I find out differently I move on after a year you gotta start somewhere I had 2 choices Trans Am or Swift and TA wasn't offer what I am looking for mainly dedicated but there was other reasons I chose Swift.
I start Swift in 2 weeks if I have time I will start a new thread with my exp. with them. -
does swift make you do the duck walk thing??
-
If go to Trans Am, if you leave then you will have to get a refresher to go to a new company.
And everybody from my school that went with then forced them into a lease, they got out of training and told you gotta go home until we can get you a truck and if your poor you really don't have a choice go home and be broke or take a lease truck sounds like a scam to me.
Every Swift driver I talked to at a local Flying J were happy I talked to 8 different drivers from Swift there, and this area is huge for Swift, TA your lucky to see 1 or 2 a day -
It goes back a few posts... Scarface responded to uga post and fewe was just telling scarface the back story on uga was way better than what scarface posted...confused?Fewe Thanks this. -
As far as Swift goes for a new driver, it's a mixed bag. IMHO Swift needs to improve driver comfort in it's trucks. I would like to see apu's so that the drivers are not cooked out in the summer. Provisions for larger inverters would also be helpful.
Internally shop services need to be scheduled and coordinated better. Too many drivers sit for too long for relatively minor things like B services. Backlogs on straight forward services could be done on the road by Speedco / Petro / TA / etc.
OnRoad is sometimes amazingly efficient in it's service, other times, well not so much. Sometimes I think that if I quit Swift it will be because of OnRoad.
Safety often comes across in it's messages as high handed and clueless. All threat and no guidence. The goal messages come to mind as an example.
The thing I admire about Swift is it's willingness to take on some rather marginal people and give them a chance. I am happy enough with Swift, I just think that it could be much more as an organization.capthook Thanks this. -
I think I need to lay down now... world spinning... pretty colors... -
After 6 weeks of training and you get a truck do they try to get you home right away I live about 4 1/2 hours from the terminal. St Louis area
How often do drivers have to unload I plan on OTR all 48, or is it drop n hook if not do they let you use lumpers?
I keep reading about a family plan and it's required for new drivers is this true?
I have a family but I am here to make money not sit at home for a week waiting for my truck 2 or 3 days off will be good ever few weeks for me.
How is the GPS in the quacomm are they pretty good to get from A to B
