Thanks for the comments on work arounds...
I was giving what I see as a better solution.
What is my fuel route? Should I take I-80 or I-70?
Where is my fuel stop(s)?
Where exactly is the shipped?
I want to look at the address in satelite view to see the layout.
Where to stop for the night?
How many miles is the drive really?
Where is a rest area if no truck stops around 'X'?
Need to write down bol, po, trailer number, misc instructions
On and on and on.
Why limit my access to ALL the info NOW when I need it to do my job the BEST?inkeper and scottied67 Thank this. -
Speaking of computers.
It just threw my PTA out until tomorrow morning.
Sent a msg to ECT to fix it for me so I don't lose my place in line for a load.
Gawd!! I wish they would disable that &#$*ing thing!scottied67 Thanks this. -
#### you got the time to do all that? I never have any time to plan anything. I get the load info be there within two hours to load deliver in 48 hours 1000+ miles and don't be late!!
I'm on one right now that i excepted that was 787 miles and picked up on a Thursday after 4PM in traffic in major city. It was suppose to be there saturday morning at 7AM.
Well they failed to tell me they where going to route me 300 miles out of the way so my load of tator chips would not explode due to elevation. Now I drove almost all night and then took my ten but I now will not make it ontime due to them having me put my trailer in the shop because they said my tandems where in danger of falling off.
WTH!!! My tandems where fine and locked!! But they proceeded in waking me during my rest to put the trailer in the shop and now I am way too tired to complete the trip by 7AM.
Need a DO NOT DISTURB SIGN FOR MY TUCK! DM's should know that when you drive most of the night please don't call and wake me while I am on my rest break!!scottied67 Thanks this. -
And thank you -

Back to bietching.
I ran shuttle last week. Saturday night I was done. Sent a message to Memphis to get an empty trailer assigned to me. Also my low fuel light was on, told them I had sent my Mac20. Also asked them to fix it so I could be assigned my load for this Tuesday. 2hrs went by. Nothing.
I called they put me on hold a couple of times. Finally told me it would have to be fixed Sunday morning. Big surprise! Nothing happened! I will have to message my regular DM this morning on my day off to get things straightened out.
I guess at 11pm Saturday night I should have asked for the big green guy with the Scottish brogue?
Glad I didn't run out of fuel on my 55mi ride home.
The weekend crew should be the DTB crew. "Drop the ball."
I am going to miss doing the shuttle. I could always get the "shuttle commander" on the phone and things got done. -
I guess I don't see where the problem is. If you weren't going to load until tomorrow morning, what do you need a trailer for? Memphis assigns according to need an they will not allow someone to sit under an empty (always in short supply in Memphis) for three days.
To get fuel, best message to send is, "ECT Plz open card for emergency fuel at .....(location with Comdata code) Thx. ...." Should take care of it. -
Injun I am 185mi from Memphis. I picked up the MT that I dropped last Monday at the shuttle swap yard in Nashville.
Something weird happens when you run shuttle. You aren't generally assigned to a truck. They don't always drop trailers. They grab their bag and swap trucks and trailers.
You don't exist until you do a mac44. Can't get payroll info, request home time, etc.
Went out to my driveway to message my DM. They have me planned to fuel in Pemberton KY. Good choice as I told them the idiot light was on for low fuel, and I am not going anywhere near there. Just going to "Guitar" loading, and T calling in Memphis. Just a smart way to get me to the shop without dead heading me. -
As for the rest, I wish I had a good answer for you. But yeah, sending a message asking to be opened for fuel at a particular comdata station will get a response quicker. Cuts out the typical response of "I need a comdata station code to open you for 50 gallons of emergency fuel".
