I stopped driving in 1997 I used to haul steel out of ohio. due to the economy my HVAC business was wiped out in 2009 thats why I came back over the road.

before that I had a mason business from 1987 to 1995
    also owned three rental houses.
let see before that had a roofing business before that well in 1976 I worked contruction out of local 228 fairview NJ lived in a small town just below the George washington bridge called Edgewater.
yes I remember the Palisade Amusement park as a kid we would climb up the cliff and sneak in the park.

Thing is I always worked end I worked hard. and this company SWIFT its a mill no one can tell me its not. they hire people for nothing once u get a year in they look to dump.
believe me I was making nothing for a long time with them but I stuck it out.
started at .25 cents a mile but just ran and stuck it out.
finely making .36 a mile and thats not much and was canned for nothing

I know EXACTLY the route you're talking about. I took the detour about two weeks ago. If anyone is planning to go to Procter and Gamble in Tunkhannock or Mehoopany in the near future, save yourself a lot of hassle and take I-81 to US-6 west. Might be a little longer, but well worth it.

What this driver said about the detour is 100% correct. There is a side road detour with a 10-ton weight limit and some turns that are pretty tight. I mean, it CAN be done in a big rig, but a little dicey in spots.

I went through it going what was supposed to be northbound on Route 309. I played it safe on the way out and took US-6 east back to I-81.

Please do not mistake my previous post as either sympathy or agreement. You were not "canned for nothing." You had five service failures and two preventable incidents within one year.

That's more on both counts than I've had in nearly five. And yes, I ran a lot of Northeast while I was with a company that schedules loads far tighter than Swift ever thought of.

This is the real world and not fantasy land with big rigs. After reading your post I can see your still dealing with being terminated. So, you got thrown off the horse. Suck it up and get back to work, even if it means swallowing your pride and admitting the error was yours. Learn from your mistakes and work to avoid situations that put your career on the line.

Didn't I read this already? Is this a double post, or did you take what a previous poster wrote as instructions. Who knows, maybe I'm just psychic!

That's the one good thing about eLogs ... in a service failure situation like that, make sure you document your qualcom critical dates/times, then make sure to get a digital or printed copy of the eLog detail, and if the data backs up your claim there is no way service could have been met given the dispatch issue date/time and circumstances that are reflected in the eLog ... fight it, make them prove how you could have played God, and corrected the planner's and/or dm's mistakes and inattentiveness, given the facts they are aware of due to EOBR technology and Qualcom technology. P.S. You have to be honest with yourself ... computers and data storage technology don't lie, and they don't contort a story to fit with the "driver's version".
