Injun needs to get off her high horse on loving swift. Do they pay you to defend them because that's all I ever read in every thread. They sound like a crappy company who run a driver mill.

Not unlike any other company.
Thing is, I see crappy drivers try to blame the company (not just Swift) for everything. We seem to be focusing on one service failure here. What about the other four? Additionally, there are two property damage incidents that are clearly the driver's fault. Are you trying to tell me that this guy doesn't know the dimensions of a truck after driving them for a year? And how do all the other trucks make it through that same detour without winding up in some guy's yard?
He got fired. He's p/o'ed because he got fired and is trying to blame Swift for his own mistakes. Then, in another thread, he's trying to justify weaseling out of paying back an honest debt. You guys seem to think this is okay. Yet, when you see a driver do something dumb, and it happens to say "Swift" on the trailer, you have no problem pointing it out. Y'all should be happy. One less Swifty on the road who will require help to operate a parking spot. -
The TTR DAC on Trucking Companies is Useless. There are many un-employed drivers that would drive for the Devil if they could earn a mediocre wage.

Every time I went to pick up a load that turned out not to be ready yet, and I wound up being late as a result, I was never service failured for it. Not once. I would send the running late macro, and they would either reschedule or tell me to deliver ASAP. Something just isn't adding up here.
I'm no perfect driver, and I have gotten SFs at times, generally for accepting a load I shouldn't have accepted. But I have never been service failured when the shipper was late. Nor for traffic or weather related late deliveries.Injun Thanks this. -
I didn't read all the pages of this post, but can't really find fault in Swift releasing you. First of all the incident/accident at the dock shouldn't have happened, that's what mirrors and legs are for, if you weren't sure about your surroundings you should have gotten out and looked and then monitored your mirrors throughout the situation.
Secondly, it seems almost all back roads in PA are rated at 10 tons, I've just recently moved here and have been told numerous times it's a money thing, the state generates revenue by having these roads bonded to make special exemptions for trucks to travel on them. I do well site trucking here in western PA and 75% of my travel is on 10 ton roads, that's just the nature of the game.
Would you not stop to think if the road had been closed for any length of time, and the state knows that it's a traveled truck road that there is some sort of exemption to be on the 10 ton road, and if you weren't sure why did you not just put on your flashers, throw out your triangles and make a phone call? Would have saved you a lot of hassle, sometimes you have to assume responsibility for the mistakes you make in life, these would be 2 good examples............ -
around here the waste trucks require 1 solid year of verifiable exp

That's for one week. But then, I don't tithe half my earnings to the guv'mint.
And, you have not paid attention to what I have posted before. There are things Swift does that I don't agree with. However, those issues are completely irrelevant to this thread. Thus far, I haven't seen where Swift was the one that messed up here.
I take things on a case by case basis. Apparently, you only look to see what company it is, then make a judgment that if it's certain companies, the driver is always right. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Some people revel in glee at the first prospect of dissing on something they perceive to be bad. You have absolutely no basis to judge, considering you have zero experience to work from. Nobody is asking you to work for Swift. Probably wouldn't want you anyway.
So, since you don't work for Swift, don't have any designs on working for Swift and will most likely never be invited by Swift to work for them, why do you care? This driver...the O/P,,, was fired because he messed up too many times. Swift was completely justified in releasing him from employment. If you had a company, you would be a fool to keep someone like this on your payroll. Unless you like paying out repairs and having irritated customers.
It is very difficult to rack up five service failures in a year at Swift because of the way the system is set up. But there's no way you could know that because you've never seen it. Why is it so difficult to accept that this guy screwed up? -
You must be living the life! That's what I make as a company driver and I'm off weekends. All I ever see in everythread is your comments on how swift. Is never at fault.
