OK maybe I misunderstood. It says no drug or alcohol positives ever?? I might have a past, I suppose, but I can say that I have never ever used illegal drugs. Not even a doobie or whatever they call em nowadays.

I went bankrupt once. But, hey, I had the guts to start a small business in the worst recession of my lifetime.

Yea "positives" in this context means dot and pre employment drug tests. A DUI is a different animal and western express will look at you as long as it's over 2-3 years and not in a CMV.

I don't know how comfortable I feel with Swift doing team driving for my training....sleeping in the back while the trainer drives and vice versa...sounds awful. Should have gone with Schneider's 8 day training.

Your on the bottom bunk while they are driving, or you should be or request another mentor. Teams have done it for ages, I'm not a fan as well but it's only for 150 hours, or about 4 weeks if you are driving as much you can. I think you will be happier with Swft after your solo.

Yea it seems most companies train for that amount of time. Something ya gotta do. Hoping most of the runs will be in Idaho, Utah, Nevada etc.

Lightside, don't sweat the team driving portion of the training too much. Look at it as driving solo, but with backup. Or an insurance policy in the back. If you get into a situation, your mentor is just a shout away.

Also, going team is a vote of confidence from your mentor. Or it should be. Your mentor has to feel comfortable enough to at least go in the bunk while leaving you alone to drive. If he doesn't feel you can handle it, it's his choice to not go team. Or if you don't feel ready, you can delay it also. The key is to soak up as much info as you can during the first 50 hrs so that you feel like you could go solo instead of team.

You need to get your MVR cleared before you start applying. Call your DMV ask ask about it.
