I was originally slated to attend class on the 15th of Nov in Millington but my state requires a physical beforehand which I didn't know, so I was rescheduled to attend next month on Dec 14th which was the soonest they could get me in. I'm not sure if its still Millington or if I was moved to another possible location, I'll have to recheck the email.

No you are not hired. You are not officially a member of the Swift nation until you receive your driver code.

Basically you will be in a three day interview, although it will seem more like a training session for a newly hired employee rather than an interview. There won't be ANY sit down question/answer routines (unless someone in Compliance needs to ask about a discrepancy or some other issue about you personally). You'll basically be learning about life on the road and safety and the rules and regulations at Swift. This is also to let you decide whether or not trucking is for you before you get into it.

On the last day is when Driver Services will come in and hand out your driver code. Don't worry as some people do not get coded that day. DS might be waiting on one item before you can be hired and it might take a day or two.

One thing, though, if you do drugs (any form), don't even show up. They drug test you the first day and if you fail, (I believe) it will go on your record (DAC) as such.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. thanks God I donot do any drugs so no worries in that dept. i was confuse bcs I was told that the background starts one wk bfr I go to orientation and was just wondering what does the recruters do to determine if you get to orientation or not.I still have to wait for an email for my bus ticket. I just wanted to get an idea what goes on in orientation and make sure i go ready with everything i can in order to avoid be snd bk home for any missed information they need, so far i have stayed in contact with my recruiter which she tells me i am good to go. i just want to cover my bases and who better than one who has been there and done that to explain it better to me so I can be at ease.

I have to go for a road test have my cdl but been out of trucking for a while. In my part I am going to take a refresher on my own to make sure I pass the test.

so you needed the physical to get your permit? I am suppose to be there Dec 13th also. I already have my permit in Missouri so i dont think i need a physical. What state are you from?

Yes, but I think it "may" vary from state to state as far as what you need before showing up. I've seen numerous post under the Swift section where people have said having a physical done prior to showing up wasn't required and is a waste of money, but when my recruiter emailed me he told me to make sure I didn't forget to bring a "copy of my physical". Since I didn't have it, they had to reschedule me for the next class. I'm in Illinois, which just happens to be one of the stricter states as far as any CDL goes.
