So my swift lease is up at the end of October 208 weeks, hehe and so many people said I would fail,lol....
anyways if anyone at swift knows or turned in there truck what happens? I'm thinking three possibilities for my self....keep this truck and keep making payments to pay it off,and then it will be a near six year old truck. With near 650'000 miles on it....I maintained her as best I knew how,but it was my first truck ever really...except company trucks....I do all the small things on her like lights, mud flaps, and mostly been pretty reliable passed every dot with only minor things ever wrong...but she is showing her age...wearing a bit and with some dings....just not as pretty as she was...and could use some interior detailing....but hey,she is a work truck and not a show truck, lol
my specific questions are will I need to spend major money to turn her in? Like for tires, fix little cosmetic things, scratches and what not?
would it be better to get a newer truck with an eye towards definitely keeping that one? And what would I have to pay from my maintainence account,or just roll everything over?
Should i I deplete my account( maintenance) so swift doesn't grab all my money? ( daddy wouldn't like that very much).
Any swift operators like to share exactly what happens at contract end and possibly rollover into a new truck? Any recommendations on truck I should get next? I would like of course super reliable, very good fuel economy, easy to work on and cheap to work on? Hey that's what I have now,lol.....still not decided....but repairs are starting to be costly....never had brakes or clutch problems....so I know those would come up eventually...and I'll need tires and we know how god blessed expensive those are! anyways any of u have any ideas? Thx bros, and sisters too![]()
Swift lease at the end....if u have completed your swift lease?

What truck do you have now, and what was your average mpg (or range of mpg)? Were you the only driver of the truck, or had there been prior owners or other drivers (like team driving of any kind)?

Read your contract....AGAIN! It covers what IEL expects when you turn the truck in. Any over-mileage payments you've made go towards the new truck or reduce the buyout on your present truck. I've heard that despite what we were told when we leased our trucks that Swift/IEL will finance the ballon payment of your current truck if you want to buy it.
As for a new truck, I'm very partial to my Cascadia. Excellent fuel mileage, plenty of room, and it's QUIET! -

If the Prostar has the Maxxforce then I wouldn't keep it. See the recent thread regarding three carriers that just filed suit due to losses from repairs and downtime with that engine. I've not driven the Prostar, but understand it does handle very well in slick conditions and has a tight turning radius.
I'll let those with experience comment regarding lease buyout.fr8monkey Thanks this. -
Ps...shes been very very reliable for the most part..... -
If it's a pre-DEF Cummins, I'd be tempted to hang on to it. There are a lot of people out there willing to pay a premium for a truck with that engine. You may be able to run it another year, then sell it to someone for what you ended up spending for the buyout. (A free year's use of the truck!)

Injun has the same truck. She recently signed up to keep it and Swift worked with her and made her happy, and if you know Injun, that is not an easy chore ! LOL! I think they even gave her an extended warranty. Phoenix has to eyeball the truck to get it done. PM me your cell number and I'll ask her to give you a call.
