I might go that route if I could get a good data plan and also be able to connect my computer to the net through the phone. I could get rid of the Verizon Jetpack.
My phone only costs $5 per month on our family plan, but the Jetpack for the internet is $140.
I'll have to check out both Verizon and T-Mobile and see which way might be better.

 

I would go Verizon t mobile sucks ### I get 4g 99% of the time. T mobile covarge sucks out west bad unless in cali.

 

Only bad part about using your phone as a hotspot for your internet. Is that it puts a lot of stress on your processor in your phone. You can tell because your phone will heat up. This could lessen the life of the phone. If you have the more everything plan from Verizon. Jet pack should only be 10 dollar per month usage fee. I'd recommend paying the $10 fee per month instead of using a smart phone for a hotspot. Smart phone is 20$ per month usage fee. Then the cost of your data per month.

Also don't forget we get I think 15% discount with swift. You can use your swiftdrivers.com email to confirm it without even having to take a check stub to Verizon.

Id also recommend Verizon over any company any day.

Well that's awesome ... I was checking my eligibility on my VZ pension plan and it turns out I can get a 22% disount on my VZ bills

Operative word there is could. I've been using mine as a hotspot for 2 1/2 years ... no issues with my phone - Samsung Galaxy III. As for charges, there are no additional costs above the line charge and data plan. Also I get much better connectivity with the phone than I did with modern.

 

I have an old unlimited data plan with Verizon I use it to give my rand mcnally internet for weather and traffic. So it's a Hotspot 24/7 and no issues
