I've been reading post for awhile live in cola. SC plan to stay out 3 weeks at a time. I like that there are a ton of there trucks all over around here. Would like to go orange but swift has nicer looking truck. Thxs in advance.

If I decided what company to drive for by the way their trucks looked I would drive for TMC.

I don't see to many tmc trucks around they do have a terminal here so could be on my list. Would probably get on flatbed sooner.

Staring out I know I have to stay on the road to make money,so if I go with someone that runs a lot in my neck of woods. I'll maybe be able to get in a drive by visit. If I could do that then I wouldn't need that much home time. Payscale between starter companys seems about the same. The thought behind what there trucks look like is. Its a reflection of how they take care of business. I know I can't count on that. If I can find a company that I still like and can run with good, but there's a company called g&p here I've talked to and like what they have to say. If I go to sage they would hire out of school, but sages in Columbia won't finance. I'm 39 and had my own drywall business for a little more than six years, and been in the trade for the last twenty. The work is gone and feel I need to get proactive while I still have enough money to live on.

Do you want a company that spends it's money on it's trucks? or on you?
I'd rather drive an older truck and soak in the good benefits and whatnots...so I picked Schneider.

It's not the coolest kid in town, but I think it's a better career choice.
I hear a lot of drivers in Swift having trouble getting miles, guess they need those fancy trucks for all that sitting many seem to do.

I was basically going to say the same thing. Looks do not get the job done, but only makes one look pretty sitting at the truck stops waiting on loads.

short sidedeness is what i say when someone thinks good looking trucks make the driver.

Thxs glad to hear from a schneider driver. I wouldn't call it shortsided to make judgments based on first impression, or appearance. That fancy truck is good bait. I'm here so as not to fall into any trap. Don't want to sit I'm doing that now.
