Well finally got my travel plans set up and background investigation cleared through investigation department.
I hope every thing goes good when I get there, I had a few misdemeanors from 14 years ago marijuana poss. charge, they cleared me said I was all good hope they actually ran my full background and don't have to worry.
I been out of school for 3 weeks now and wanna get out there before I forget how to shift lol.
I have heard some terminals only make exp. drivers do road test at orientation and noobs do it after being with a mentor any one know if Edwardsville KS does this?
Think the hardest thing for me will be leaving the family for 6 weeks my gf is disabled but is not helpless just has back problems and ankle problems at least she has pain killers to help her out her biggest problem is walking too much, my kids are 6 and 12 so the 12 yr old can help her if she needs help.
But been a cook for years I am just trying to better my self and my family and stop living paycheck to paycheck, I know it will be hard the first year and not make a whole lot but I am just hoping to make $30,000 my first year.
I have always wanted to be a truck driver but had kids young so I have to wait until they got a little older, my goal is to do over the road for the first year then get into a dedicated account with more hometime, I wanna be out 2 or 3 weeks at a time.
Just hope I get a good mentor thats going to teach me everything I will need to know when I go solo.
I will keep you updated on my Orientation and training if I got time, I got a Iphone so I can post from it if I got the time wish me luck.
