I live in Columbus, Oh. 15 minutes from terminal. Have heard that if you live closer to a terminal, getting home is a bit easier. Is there any truth to this? Anyone based out of the Columbus terminal that can tell me the amount of miles they are getting? Also what is Millington like? Thanks so much!

Living in a major freight lane is a good thing. I live 4 miles South of I-40. Home terminal of Memphis was 180+mi. from me. Sometimes I got home for an over night on a run. I could park the entire rig in front of my house or drop the empty trailer around the corner and park the tractor inside my gate. Living close may mean you have to park at the terminal on home time. And have to clean out your truck every time.

Check in to WIA funding and see if there is a quality school in your area they will pay for. That way you are beholding to no one for the tuition.

I couldn't tell you about the Swift academy.
