I am in Richmond now, heading over there now to look around.
Think I am gonna go with Central Refrigerated but checking others out.
I live in Fl and Swift is only hiring teams.
Will let you know what I see...ShamrockSalono Thanks this. -
Thanks, TB. And good luck where ever you go.

Richmond is not a bad terminal, I ran out of there for 3 yrs pay my truck off in 16 months. But if I were you I would get on dollar general dedicated instead of otr. Thank me later
ShamrockSalono Thanks this. -
Thanks, oc83. I wouldn't mind a dedicated account. My only question, how long do I have to be driving before I can run dedicated?
-
i ran the target dedicated for awhile and it was good to get my feet wet in the trucking industry, but i just couldnt hancle it any longer. i mean it may be forsome drivers, not i. it felt to much like work. not that it is a hard job to run dedicated, just that it was the same routine, the same stores the same people... blehh
me personally i love being otr, a different sgate each night, learning when to park in certain areas/states, finding neat little hole in the wall places to park and lets not forget about knowing the good bbq joints around..i really like meeting the people from different states and getting to visit (time permitting) stadiums, football hall of fame, elvis presley mansion... etc..
cant say id go back dedicated, but from time to time ill help a wally world, target, home depot out, just to brezk it up a bit.. not to mention the multi stop pay is nice...
i think if ya have a family and kids at home waiting for ya to be there a lot, trucking isnt a job you should seek, maybe a day cab or yard goat is more of their speed. ive said it before and ill say it again... trucking isnt a job, its a life style, not only you but yer whole family has to be onboard with..
as var as swift only hiring teams, not so.. swift hires solo drivers and trains them solo, if you want to team, go for it..
good luck in yer training..Bigdubber and ShamrockSalono Thank this. -
yes you are correct I should have said only hiring teams in Fl at this time...my bad -
You can get on dollar general soon as you get off you mentor truck, just let dexter or bernard know you want to run DG and you will b good to go.
ShamrockSalono Thanks this.
