Message came over the Qualcomm today...

"Due to rising cost of fuel and demands of the customers to lower cost, we will be backing the trucks governors and cruise control from 65 MPH to 62 MPG until fuel prices return to a reasonable price. Trucks going in to the shop will be set this way and we ask that you voluntarily do this until your truck is fixed. Overspeeds will be dealt with by your terminal manager. We are trying to make this a successful and profitable trucking company and our competition is reported to be doing the same. Thanks and stay safe"

    Jerry Moyes

Dont run them Swift company trucks over out there...its not their fault they an only do 62 now....

Well, the overment got onto Jerry in the first place because he was trying to monopolize the trucking industry in the first place back when Dick Simon went out of business. They outta bust his ### anyway and I hope like hell they do! As for these small companies, I feel bad for them becaue they are only trying to make it like the rest of us. Like I said. #### the government, make them sweat. They deserve that much for what the have stolen from us unless we can do more to put them in a world of hurt!

Many companies turned their trucks down. Many drivers (o/o mainly) figured out how to get the best MPG their truck could do. Now that fuel is down a bit, everyone seems to forget the $ they kept out of the fuel tanks. Go figure.
