Swift - Starting School at Lewiston. Questions about hotel, training facility

I would start a new thread if I were you... This is basically a diary of my experiences. I started at San Antonio and don't know much about Lewiston.

I went thru there n it was great, but they have lost almost all the instructors since then. :bigrin_2555: I was not impressed with the instructor I met at a recent visitvisit. Overall the school trained me to drive the truck, my mentor was key to the experience end of the training. The motel is clean n will help u in any eay u need it. B sure to ask for a coffee pot as they dont keep em in the room and if u n bigger frdge they will provide one

 

Hint on the hotel. Don't make your bed. If you make it the cleaning girls will think nobody slept in the bed and won't clean it.

 

I didn't go to Lewiston school but the one they put us up in was decent. The hotel that they put us up in in Millington, TN was like a small apartment. It had a fridge, stove, microwave, sink..basically a full kitchen with a dining area and there were 4 people to a room. The school ran night and day classes and they separated the day classes from the night classes by room. I ended up in a night class room even though I was days because all of my other room mates flunked out and they can't have just one person to a room, so I had the entire place to myself on my time off.

 

Lewiston was great. Hotel had some crackheads and crazies living there but never caused trouble. Its not like you'll be at the hotel much anyway. instructors were all very nice. think I heard 2 instructors jumped ship and drive for knight now.

 

It is Ok. Motel is clean. The school is a good one. The hard time is still coming to you with the mentor. Be cool it will not take longer, at the end you will start be a truck driver. Welcome to the family.
