    Especially in Oregon.

At least all you had to endure was a few moments of embarrassment. Good lesson to learn that not all trucks are created equal when it involves weight.

If they see a differnt truck number on that scale ticket then It's virtually useless. Besides his othe option was the hefty fine. At that point the scale ticket stays in my pocket. Lol

Always assume a tcall came in on a day cab ... If it's over 40K or close on the drives, rescale ... Hopefully the terminal scale is working.

You can't always go by the BOL weights, either. I once picked up an after-hours D&H that had 47K on the BOL. Since there was a CAT scale the next exit down, I scaled it. Tandems and drives were both in the 25K range. The BOL indicated about twice what was actually loaded.

Sometimes BOLs are in kilos ...

True, but a Swift van with 47000Kg in it would have blown tires. (103K lbs.)

It is also the reason that some terminals, not all, but would be a great idea, when t-calling a load they are asking what kind of truck and how much fuel when you scaled it. Three exceptions to this, loads coming in from Mexico t-calling at Nogales, El Paso and Laredo. For some reason they are not required to scale a load.

    Oregon doesn't have Prepass.

Probably because of the paperwork involved in sending it back to the shipper to be reworked...
