Where are you going to school at?
I honestly don't think there is such a good thing as a "good" truck driving school or company... its like searching for the best of the bad. They all have drivers complaining about something.
So guess what... your profile says your a student - so I'm sure your going to get screwed just like the rest of us newbies. How is that working out for you?
Why do you have to have such a negative attitude about swift? Did they do something to you?
Swift training school any one out here been there.

Hey Kevin where are you getting your training?
Looks like I'll be going to Pheonix for training June 18th. -
Memphis. I start on the 21st.
-
Texas on June 11
-
Let us know how training and such is going if you can.
I'll try to do the same. I'm not sure if I can get a laptop before i go. If I cant I'll be keeping a journal to report when I can.
Good luck you guys. -
There has been at least one company where the drivers had their licenses revoked because of an investigation into the school.
I don't have the time to go back and find the specifics........ and at this point I don't see that you warrant my efforts........
Like I said previously......... you already sound like a Swifty lifer...... good luck. -
Ok THESTORYTELLER Give me the name of the company, the Date, what state it was in, and how many drivers.
If it has happened then so be it.
The only effort I see here from you is in trying to BASH Swift and me for my decision. I don't think you are providing any value to this thread by bashing and trying to prove every remark I make as false. If you don't like what I say or my decision to be a ... "SWIFTY"then I suggest you find another thread to go post your complaints in.
And what exactly is a SWIFTY LIFER???
Prejudice. Pure Prejudice.
Do you think because I want to work for Swift that I am some kind of scum bag low life? If that is the case then you are totally wrong buddy.
I am standing by my decision and if you don't like it then you know what to do.

I may have to just make a blog about my experiences due to the fact that this thread seems to be attracting the "anti SWIFTY" people.
I'm am sick of all the Swift bashing going on not just on this thread but all over the forum. There are a lot of other companies that suck to. I know what I'm going into and what to expect - CRAP.
There is no room in this thread for bashing someone because of who they choose to work for. I think its ridiculous. Thats why I may just have to take my posting off site and start my own blog so I can avoid the negatives.
Either way I'll try to give as much details as possible. I may not have a laptop but if I do I'll be updating daily.

But you could have found that out by clicking on my name and looking back at my posts............. basic computer skills kiddo......
AND, just for the record...... I am paying for my school......I don't sign contracts that benefit other people at my expense...........
....... and that is ALL that matters to me. Why should I care what kind of crap goes on back in Sacramento where the owners are?
I had absolutely no experience with a Big Truck a few weeks ago..... now:
- I can rattle off the 200 sentences necessary for a pre-trip inspection test
- I can complete an air pressure and brake inspection test
- I can double clutch (up and down) and float (up and down as well) through all my gears
- I can back-up in a straight line (most of the time)
- I can dock
- I can parallel park
- I can make u-turns
- I can turn corners in a variety of ways (including our duckie turn...)
- I can drive through some of the narrowest streets in town without hitting anything
Maybe it is just me.......... but I think we are doing just great so far....
......well, I guess that's what you get for hanging out with those Swifty guys!....
Sorry, couldn't resist that one.... but really dude....... you don't know people who are happy with their companies? That is sad......
As for making mistakes that most newbies make........ I have found in life that if you take the time to do a little research..... listen to your elders (and those with more experience regardless of age)...... and make every effor to learn from other people's mistakes....... life is just a whole lot more pleasant!
I am currently a teacher.
I have several friends who are teachers.
We all live in the same county.
We all work the same number of hours per day.
I have worked the LEAST number of years of any of us.
I make the most money of any of us.
Matter of fact......... I make between 35-85% more than my friends.
I did my research before I became a teacher.
I am..... and I will be....doing my research before I jump to driving full time.
Why would anyone be stupid enough to make less than the maximum amount of money for any given job? -
I love PB&J...lol
My friend's (the one I live with) dad is an owner operator. HE does really well with it and said if I like driving after a year or two he knows people who can get me a good deal & will hook me up with some good brokers he knows if I want to become and O/O.
Swift is only the first step for me and I don't plan on staying forever lmao.
