    Mike dont sweat the trolls

There are a lot of Swift drivers who are not happy but keep driving because they have to, im one of them, I make just enough to pay the bills living paycheck to paycheck and I will continue to keep driving until something comes along. I am applying for places, the hardest part about applying for jobs being on the road, when do you get home to do an interview? that makes it harder.

Swift lives to the reputation indeed. You might be pleased to find out that they've pushed one guy bit too far and ended up with a class action. So, you might be getting a bit of cash some time soon.
As for working for Swift...folks who apply are mostly students/new drivers with little options and - trust me - alternatives like CREngland, Werner and such are no different. You've done your time now, plenty of jobs out there. Go with someone decent and forget Swift like a bad dream. Happy travels

oh, please! what's wrong with going home every two weeks?! some people don't want to lose their loved ones and neglect the kids. you like swift? that's fine. maybe you are working for a decent dispatcher or a good terminal. that does happen.
but most people, especially new guys, come to work excited to drive and do their best. it's usually dispatchers (or DM's if you please) who are rude and "smart", a 22 year old kid with a high school diploma who failed in attempts to go to college or find a higher paying job would explain a veteran in his 50's with 20some years of experience how to drive snow and organize his personal time with family?!
0-1 year and loving swift? come, repeat your speech in 2 years. happy travels
*not bashing, but this doesn't add up at all*

I received one of those class action lawsuits in the mail as well. It won't do me any harm if Swift loses, and I don't think it would do other drivers a disservice either. :biggrin_25520:

How far away from the Mira Loma terminal do you live? They're looking for a few shuttle/local drivers for the Budweiser fleet. They restructured the fleet about two months ago and freight has been really good.

How many cash advances did you take per pay period?? Because those suckers add up quick! Especially if you have alot of deductions...i.e. school loan, benefit packages, and taxes being deducted. All that on top of poor miles can really kick ya. But 7 mo sure is a long time to be putting up with that kind of nonsense, at least now you have 7 mo otr experience, which is 7 mo more than what you had before.

I worked for swift for two years and the last year I worked there I leased and trained. Most of my married students and ones with kids and family to take care of didn't last long on the peanuts pay, only my single students stuck with it. I made it two only because of a kick ### dispatcher, a DM will make or break you. I left because of my truck always being broke down and the last time I was in the shop for a month and went in the negative because no loaner trucks available. I don't understand why these big companies don't pay a living wage to start with, as well as not letting a guy or gal idle their truck to keep cool in the summer. Taking care of the drivers that make the company their money goes a long way. Companies need to start out at least .32 cpm, spec their trucks out for driver comfort and not be afraid to spend money on a nice truck with APU and inverters. Companies need to start listening to their drivers and start catering to them, especially the veterans that have trucked for many years. Maybe one day these companies will wise up when they get sued for the way they treat drivers. I find it funny that if you have an animal in your truck you have let the truck idle to keep the animal cool or warm, yet it isn't a law for humans to be comfortable.

Has anyone seen this? It's 'Longhaul.' It's a doc shot by a Swift driver. I hope he got on with a better gig.
