Well, I see that you've somehow was able to take what I said out of context. I highly doubt if he made a hundred dollars back to back to back he would have stayed long enough to say even goodbye. Shoot, I don't know his situation, but let's say he has a family, he wouldn't be eligible for benefits until what? The sixth month I think? So that leaves out where his check went. His wife, would be all over him saying get a better job after the second month not 7th. Also if it were truly 100 dollars each week why didn't op move on before? Why didn't he already resign or send in that letter? If he is single then where is all his money going? It is what you do with the money after you make it that counts; even 100 dollars, in this situation, if it can be believed, adds up to large sums of money over time.

Since he hasn't chimed in to set the record straight I'm still saying this story is full of holes, it's not Swift, it's something on his part somewhere. In this case I don't mind being proven wrong but tell both sides of the story and not just the negative part. Shoot you made it 7 months so is it really that bad? Really? For real? Are you sure?

I just finished the academy and the 1 week road training in Gary. I can tell you this, they need trainers... GOOD trainers. The one that I had just left, and that's a major blow for Swift. He did say, the company isn't what it used to be...... I got my CDL and told them I would not be signing on with the company. It served it's purpose, and not much else.

By you going through their Academy/CDL school you agreed to work for them for certain amount of time in your contract.

No, I agreed 2 pay them the $4400, regardless of where I work. It is an interest free student loan. When u go thru the training, you are NOT gaurenteed a job. And they let you kno that from the start.

I have been with Swift for one year now. I run solo and am out an average of 4 - 5 weeks. I make between $575.00 to over $1000.00 per week after deductions. I had one late JIT load that kept me at a gold status almost ten months. Now I am platinum and able to choose my own loads if desired. I have had good days and bad days. It is apparent to me by reading your post that you probably did nothing but complain and make things miserable for yourself. You make it what it is out here. You aren't telling the whole story so I am curious to see what your next post will be regarding the next trucking company that you become unhappy with. Good luck to you!

A lot of people don't understand that you do have the option to leave after training you just have to pay for the services you received.

As I have not turned in my resignation letter yet, I will not post it here till I do. However, I will answer some of the questions now.

    1) I ran every load they offered me with one exception.
    2) I have, in the last 7 months, been home a grand total of 5 days. - No family. Only went home to take care of personal stuff.
    3) I have almost no bills and did have some savings to augment the money I made.
    4) Swift only allows you to draw $100.00 a week.
    5) I spoke at length with both the driver managers that I had about the lack of miles many times.
    6) I ran lower 48 including winter when a lot of drivers won't run up north for fear of chaining up.
    7) I did say "Average". I have had checks as low as $5.36 and as high as over $900.00(once).
    8. Since Christmas, I have averaged 1650 miles a week. Once you pay taxes, Insurance, swift academy payment, etc, this leaves about $100 left over.
    9) During the first 3.5 months of my employment, the trucks I drove spent an average of 33% of the time in the shop because they were broken down junk. Just before Christmas, I got into a new T-700. Sadly, no more miles came with it.

I have the pay stubs and the logs to back up my claims here. Swift sucks. I will never, ever recommend them to anyone who wants to get into the trucking industry.

Yes, there is more to this story. You will know the full of it when I am able to post my resignation letter.
