Tip, did you hear the 600 drivers that quit from the same place that everyone hears Swift is buying JB, or Werner is buying Swift, or any other variation. Lie of ommissions? Please, do tell. I am open and can talk about anything without having to make up things. I will tell you the good and the bad.
I am for Crete also, and every trucking company out there. A trucking company is like the opposite sex. Not everyone is going to be attractive to everyone. They all have good and bad, and different personalities. I am not offended if someone goes with a different company. That is great. I am on here just to explain why things happen, or just call someone out that doesn't talk with all the facts, or makes assumptions.
Tip, I dont recruit. I don't get paid to recruit, and if I did recruit it would not benefit me because they would probably not be out of my Terminal. I take my personal time to get on here and explain why things happen. I gain nothing but personal satisfaction in helping. I see your tactic is that any time someone says something positive, you automatically say they must be an insider or recruiter. There are also lots of drivers that work for Swift that are happy. Its a fact, it shows in the substantially lower then industry turnover for 2007.
That is sad you did not come here to make friends. You sound bitter at the world, I see lots of conspiracy theorys in your posts. Tip, even if you wear tinfoil hat while at home on the computer, I have no problem being friendly to you. I do wish you the best and hope 08 is better for you

About a thousand SwiftQuit drivers have told me what went down with Mike Stearns' company, so I'll go with those guys over one insider's explanation, an insider who relies on ad-hominem. Perhaps if you had more going for your argument, you wouldn't be?
Me? Mad at the world? Try again. I'm just a guy who doesn't get stepped on. If some people expect a driver, or even an ex-driver, to "stay in his place", naturally they're gonna have problems with those who put up with zero BS. You don't screw with people who have elephants' memories and can type.
There are no tinfoil hats being worn on my end. The only tinfoil is on your end, in the form of the idea that people will bypass what we ex-Swifty drivers say and go with that outfit anyway. Sadly, some will do that. But it's a free country (in theory). To each his own. But to anyone who thinks these threads are bogus here and takes the plunge, please do tell when you go to work at JerryCo and find out we're right, kapisch?
Here's a better solution: demonstrate how SwiftQuit is training its newbie drivers adequately, is making better hiring decisions up front (and not settling for the drivers they label 'bad apples' later), and is getting its name off of Ripoffreport dot com. Until you can do this, you're just blowing hot air. I don't see this happening, though, as hot air is all you need to sell your ideas to some. Maybe that's all you need to keep the grinding machine running at SwiftQuit. -
""""You don't screw with people who have elephants' memories and can type.""""""
Funny - the decades long stereotypization of truck drivers is that we're all dumb and weren't smart enough to do anything else in life. Or - that our reasoning and thought processes are somehow dysfunctional simply because we drive a tractor-trailer rig.
Perhaps with certain truckers that is true, and where those mindframes originate, but certainly, I don't believe it's even the norm in this industry. My own doctor - making hoardes of money every year - told me on my last visit that he was considering selling his practice, buying a rig and going out on the road.
I have never driven for Swift, there's a reason for that: I've heard and read too many stories from ex-drivers that tell-it-like-it-is. Some may have some pretty lame reasons, many have very legitimate reasons for leaving. I've already done enough of the other big companies to know that much of it is the salesmanship of the recruiter to propogate a LOT of lies to get people into their ranks.
Apparently it works well enough - even if a driver only lasts a year or less, he/she was there long enough to fill a seat and keep the loads moving.
Unfortunately for this person and others in that company, especially recruiters, the tidal wave of bad reports totally wipes off the map anything good you might hear about the company, which is very little, if any. Swift, as a corporate entity, has done seemingly nothing to attempt to even adjust slightly the amount of deserved, negative bashing it receives. If you hear about a major truck crash, one of the first thoughts I have is whether a Swift truck was involved.
I have no sympathy for the company or the management/owners/board that runs it. -
Absolutely, positively true, Trooper. I have no sympathy for that outfit because of the idiot hiring decisons they make. This and the fact they try to come clean later by placing fault on the shoulders of their ex-drivers when something goes wrong.
One of the things that REALLY peeves me about companies like SwiftCo, one of things that really pisses me off, is they will keep on doing what they're doing as far as the turnover racket goes, and then pass the buck of blame to someone else. They'll hire guys whom they know are "iffy" at best, and then blame the drivers later when they screw up and cost the company money. Yeap, it's always the driver's fault if he doesn't like being screwed over and quits after his third week on the job. Maybe you should give personality tests, Swift, instead of the weight-toting test.
And of course, if a newbie driver tears into a 379 fender in a truck stop because of inadequate training, he can be blamed through DAC. With SwiftQuit and their great "mentoring" program, that happens more than with other companies. But that's fine. Go ahead and train the greenies using trainers who themselves are in dire need of training. If said greenies screw up later, no problem. Just replace 'em with freshies.
Don't these idiots at SwiftQuit ever learn from their mistakes?
Hey, QuitSwiftly, it's all on you. YOU make the hiring decisions and training decisions you do, so you have to sleep in that bed. And don't get pissed off when someone calls you on your idiotic decisions later. Sure, the truth hurts.
'Nuff said. -

Let's try this again. Let me rely on even more common sense this time. Maybe that will work. By the way, I appreciate your reading my innumerable posts. That must take a while. Sounds like you're getting desperate to dig up dirt on somebody.
It HAS been a while, but I did learn about the great quit day at SwiftQuit originally through an insider who at that time had just become an ex-employee. Many drivers and ex-drivers then confirmed it as being true over the next few years.
You're right. I wouldn't believe you and your biased figures.
We'll just have to consider it a conspiracy that SwiftQuit is so desperate it must resort to using people with 6 months' experience to train new hires. It's those #### no-good drivers' fault when they get careless and screw up, right? It's a good thing SwiftCo is self-insured. No insurance company would cover them at reasonable rates.
Perhaps if Swift could keep its drivers around longer, it'd have a nice supply of experienced, qualified trainers to meet its demand. Maybe if Swifty didn't live down to its reputation, enough qualified trainers could be recruited from outside to fill the ranks. But when drivers quit an outfit at the rate they quit SwiftQuit, it's no surprise there is a sham training program in place there. It's no surprise most vets want no part of SwiftQuit. Folks in the know avoid that outfit for good reasons. -
I think Swift is a good outfit as they have loads for drivers that want to work. Sure there is a good side and a bad side but if you listen, pay attention in class, and follow their rules then you should be fine. I know a guy who worked for Swift in 2004 and he loved it. Brand new Volvo, nice new interior and he got tons of loads. If my memory serves right, he is from Corning NY. The people who have rude things to say have had bad experiences with the company. I see Swift as a good outfit to work for if you like otr.
