dont know if your 'message' is coming from your DM or what, but 'fuel you purchase', i assume you are a company driver. If so, then you arent 'buying' any fuel. and if you're an O/O, then all i can say is my mentors i had were both O/O and never once did they explain to me that they were doing a Mac 11. I think someone is BSing you over there.

i'd ask around....but do it quietly.

That message is automated through the computer. You are supposed to send in a mac 11 after everytime you put fuel in letting the computer know if you topped off your tanks or if you didnt. Its just a program they are trying to get better fuel rates and it updates the computer on your fuel level. Its all automated and only takes a second I do it everytime I put fuel because thats what my terminal "Minnesota" told us to do.

I get those messages as well and just reply back to them. It most likely has to do with keeping the computer updated on fuel for fuel solutions. They fixed my biggest problem last week as the computer showed me able to carry 300 gallons of fuel when my truck has a max capacity of 240 gallons. It was getting real old having to ask for emergency fuel.

after 10 years i finally threw in the towel with swift the other day

i am one of the original drivers have been in flat bed division for over 9 years driver code in the 100000's considering they started the coding system at 100,000 you can do the math have trained over 500 young and old ans was a runner whenthe load had to be somewhere it was there truck was engine governed not speed governed has never been speed governed unless i was new in the truck but that always was fixxed at the shop 2 tickets in 10 years and 0 accidents now tell me why they didnt wanna try and keep me around

mac 11 is something they started due to fuel pricing and terminal shortages trying to keep track of com data and what not

i was kinda peaved but oh well just big brother lookin over your shoulder i was really peaved when they started making us do mac 10s that was years ago but i stuck with it even though their reason per say was caused someone caused an accident

i personally didnt start having problems till i was given micheal a out of the phoenix flatbed division as a dm thats when it all started chad h was my dm before mike andbefore that sachs was and before that well ya know weve been through a lot but anyways got my first log violation due to mr a not notingmy truck top speed and capable distance and he didnt back me so screw him

my freightliner was rpm governed at 2800 rpm roughly 75 mph if i drove straight it would be roughly 825 miles which is substantially more than the 62mphrs i would average 790 a day which is about 100 over the max of a 62 in a 11

well 1 week ran all week back and forth from tuscon to warren wv with a load of molibdinum roughly a 2 and half day trip get a coil or 2 in pittsburgh pa and haul it all the way back to negalis was my trip for years could make a round trip in a week and have been doing it for years, needless to say i hate pittsburgh but thats another story ahhahahahah

but now all the sudden its a problem with him that ican do it this fast and he singles me out basically tells me to turnmy truck down or be canned i told him to talk to jerry which he obviously didnt do before he got ahold of hr basically as it sets i ended up leaving the company because of this lil turd named MICHAEL A and cant get ahold of the old man till he gets back from vacation but i think its time to break out my ole international and do my own thing

i thought that swift would have a pace of change after jerry got the company back but hardly anything has changed

    just my rant

    harass yall later

I will have to admit. I don't like doing that macro 10 mess it's annoying, especially when you put in accurate 11/14hr times and still get loads that you can't run legally. I wished they left macro 50. I'm also upset that swift doesn't reimburse showers starting 1/1/09. They're talking about truck stops are offering free showers if fueling there and you can shower at terminals. Well how can you get free showers when are almost always fueling at the terminals?! Some of the swift terminals you do not wanna shower in there.....

oh god we wont go there ahhahah most of the terminal showers are in such disrepair that it should be a crime to have to take a shower there in other words ahahha they should be paying us to use some of those facilities mac 50 is better than 10 imho

I really dont see the problem with mac 10s. it is just a good way for DMs to keep on top of how much fuel is on your truck (i always tell em i'm an 8th lower than i really am), and to know how many hours are left on your 11/14 hr clocks. My problem is waking up between 2a and 6a to send it in on time. If i am under a load that is going to take a day or two, i dont bother with it. My DM should know what i'm doing. If i'm awake during those 4 hours, ill send it in.

My biggest pet peav is putting in your eta/pta whats left of your 11/14 when doing your loaded calls or whatever. the load delivers in 2 days, i dont know exactly what those numbers will be till it gets closer. My mentor i had when we did wal-mart dedicated runs, always just put in 11/11 11:11 for everything. until we got to our final drop, then we'd put in actual ETA/PTA information. No point giving info as accurate when you dont have it....

oh...and i had to laugh a little bit. I was dispatched to repower a load cause a guy broke down. I was at the pilot waiting for a PP when i got the call to do this, and to fuel at that Pilot. get 50 gal. i then got my very first "please do mac 11" message. so i cannot say i never have got one now. :biggrin_25525:

I know what you're saying. Edwardsville showers are pretty good actually. Sometimes i want to take a wrench in there, and steal one of their showerheads. LOL. other terminals suck. sometimes i just want to ask them for a garden hose i can hook up outside. =)

yea when a majority of these were built they were nice and with the acquisition of other companies to spread the network of terminals, they were nice as well but as swift has mingled their tentacles into the works of the terminals they for the most part have gone to pot cause of the uncaring terminal staff that neglect to keep the facilities up to a better standard but goes to show that they dont care i bet if they owned a part of the company they would care a lil more but thats just the way it is

dont get me wrong some of them are nice but others bahhh bout the only one i liked a lotwas the one up around kansas city i thought that was a nice terminal

i wont forget the last time i was at teh lerado terminal just terribly nasty

i went out to the back of my truck put up my tarp around the catwalk and took a cold gallon jug shower really hate doing but when you are stuck there for 4 days and the truck stops right there are just as bad u do what you have to do ahahhahahahaha
