They sure did. thanks for your concern.

Everyone at the terminal I'm out of knows exactly who I am. By name.

I can honestly say that I have never had a bad moment with Swift. Communication or otherwise. I even had to leave for a spell and they promised a couple of things when I came back and #### if they didn't hold up to their word.

Imagine if i did something like that. They'd throw the #### book at me.

How the hell is a $4000 fine sufficient to deal with someone who stole a $20,000 grant? what the hell?

I don't have to imagine. I'm living it and I'm doing 100% fantastic.

  6. It means its all locked up! Now and on weekends you are not allowed in the building. Its all changed. You cant even talk to a planner or dm unless you call. Mon thru friday its open but they dont want you up their. I dont know why the change.

  7. OK education time for all you happy Swift Drivers that man have had the perfect life and make comments that sound like a recruiting commercial.

    1) I keep saying I dont run OTR, So for you OTR fleet 53' Van drivers we know you dont experiance what I have mentioned.

    2) I work in the port division. You dont get paid for port time. Sometimes you are in there for six hours just trying to get a roadable chasis. Thats right NO DETENTION PAY! Get it through your head. They dont tell you this.

    3) Next is they dont tell you anything, I mean nothing. You have to figure it all out on your own. Then if you have a problem the DM gives you attitude like why you bothering me. Yet they know your new.

    4) Drivers are givin the impression that delivering on their 10 is ok. Thats your 10 off just in case you need clarification. The DMs love to push his drivers to do it. Then act like they know nothing about it.

    5) Why I quoted the above. Why have most trucks been only in once. Well company trucks are constantly losing Company drivers. Well at $220.00 a week who would stick around.

    6) Who I feel sorry for the most. L/O out of the ports. They get sold a truck for way over what was payed for it. Then Swift makes money off the lease. Then Swift brings in outside companies to take in containers while the same L/O sit becasue they dont want to pay the agreed amount to take the container back. So basically they push a lease,(SUCKER A DRIVER) Than have that driver agree to a pay scale per what he does. Than brings in other companies to move frieght because they are cheaper and the L/O sit. All in the name of saving money/pocketing more! How they can even do this I never understood. To me its a conflict of interests. So L/O are losing their trucks or running to other fleets temporarily to move frieght just to get by. They could defer Payments but SWIFT decided to change that and add $100.00 to each week defered. Use to be alot less/ Under $50.00

    7) If times are so great at Swift why with the abundance of new drivers are they down to like CRST, having a hard time finding/keeping drivers. Is it the adds in the Register in Ca that state( Want to make $900.00 Week!) Then you go thru training and relize thats probably going to be the best money you see for awhile. Maybe its so great at Swift for the ADD in Los Angeles ( Swift Wilmington Hiring for port drivers no experiance needed. Come have lunch on us) Its like going to an AL williams meeting in the 80's. NOthing but Lies and promises.

*) If you cant put it together and see the trend. Well your blind. Its all right offs. Pure profit.

I don't run OTR either. So right off the bat, the rest of your post is like most Hollywood marriages...null and void. You deal with chassis? Guess what? So do I. I have been for the past 2 years. And I do have fun doing it. If loving my job and if telling people I love my job makes me sound like a recruiter to you, then so be it. I'm not one and would not want to be one as I know they lie to people and I can't do that. I wouldn't want to work in the office because I'm not an office type person (unless I had an actual computer job). But I have no problem being contradictory to people who think that their experiences should sway people away from a company. Because for every bad experience there is a good one. I am the good one to your bad one.

I trained with Swift in Millington, TN in January 2009. A late entry into trucking. I got dropped off for school on my 49th birthday. I got good training at Millington, who I do beleive overcompensated because of the debacle that happened with all the CDL's that were revoked that came out of there.

After I got my CDL and went to orientation I saw that this was a monster company and I would have to work to make myself more than just a number on a truck. I got a great mentor who taught me so much about managing my log, my time and how to develop relationships with shippers, recievers, DM's, etc. He had me do over 130 backs in 6 weeks. After getting my own truck I never had one backing accident. Very rare for the new Swifty.

As you all know 2009 was a bad year for our nation's economy and freight was scarce. I sat a good bit and that sucked, but as I built a reputation as one who would keep the left door closed and didn't hit things, my life in my own truck was good. I started getting dependable miles, and built a strong relationship with my DM.

Due to a medical emergency I came off the road late last year. I am heading back in a month or two and several companies have responded to my online applications. Two are offering me orientations whenever I want to go. All this said to say, I am strongly considering coming back to Swift. They aren't the devil. Some of thier DM's are terrible, some of their drivers are complete knuckle heads, etc etc. But that describes EVERY starter company. I had a very good experience. The only thing I hated was not having an open fuel card. I hated not being able to fill 50 gallons and get a shower every day when I parked at a Pilot or TA. I got good at becoming someone elses "co-driver" in order to get one, but I felt like a hobo asking.

My Swift training and driving experience was a good one. I found if you talk to within the company with respect, and demand same said respect you got along fine. I also know there are thousands who didn't have good mentors or experiences in their own trucks. All I can say is it wasn't bad and I might even go back.

    Just my thoughts.

One thing your absolutely mistaken about is they DID NOT give the penny per mile back.
