I like it when people constantly say "I heard McDonalds is hiring" when in fact, they aren't.

You did when you claimed to be out 3-4 months at a time. Sorry, dude. But to have a home life, you have to actually be there.

Well, the way I see it is if you don't like the company you're runnng for, go find something else. There are no chains holding you in that white truck. Go run a blue one, a gold one, a red one, a green one or one of any color you choose for Prime and get back with us in six months. (Colors represent Werner, CRST, USXpress/Knight and Interstate respectively)

    And good luck to you.

Perhaps you should look at their carreer website. http://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en/careers.html

I just looked and there are over 2000 jobs available at McDonald's just here in the great state of Georgia.

Just because I run 3-4 months doesn't say I don't have a home life. What it shows is that I work, make money, pay bills, & then go home for a couple weeks at a time when I do go home. I don't go home for a couple days & feel content like the rest of ya'll.

You assume too much. I did Not go to Swift for training. Have plenty of experience. Went to Swift because they promised certain things which I needed at the time. Home time was one of those things.

It isn't helpful or pleasant to give everyone on the board grief. The shippers and the dispatchers do enough of that. I'm here to connect with other truckers and get my daily quota of respect; which is what I give to you'all. So here's hoping what goes around comes around.

    Thanks... UturnGirl

People seem to have brand loyalty here, and get defensive when someone is trashing somthin they like, "Super singles" "Petes" or "Swift" type things for example, if you said your pete sucked and it was junk they would jump, same for company drivers that like it, they will jump to, its not lack of respect for you, its a feeling of needing to share both sides I think.

Keeping in mind that most of the people who hate Swift either were fired from them or are working from rumor and inuendo. There are two types of the latter: those who heard it from a friend or family member who was fired or heard it on the radio and those who bash Swift to try to fit in. The ones most irritating to me are the ones who do it to fit in and really don't have the slightest idea what they're talking about. They're easy to spot. They always stray too far from the usual b****ing and can never back it up with anything.

"The Usual" being Swift undercuts rates. Swift pays crappy. Swift has an unfair fleece program. Swift burns its people out. Swift won't run you the miles you want. (How these last two can be said bacl to back with a straight face is beyond me.) Swift will sell you the moon and then steal your truck. Swift can't train drivers. Swift is in the guv'mint's pocket. The guv'mint is in Swift's pocket. Swift is too big. Swift is trying to take over the industry. (Even though Swift started with 6 trucks.) Swift has crappy equipment.

    *whew!* Did I miss anything?

Anyone is allowed to add to the list and I would be amused what is left to be said.

Wow So much Is said I just dont know what to comment off of, but I will add my 2cents Swift has worked for me and yes like any other job you are going to have problems. i am an Ower operator and run atleast 4500-5000 miles a week as a team. When I was a company driver the first 6-8 months were crappy, but as a rookie that is expected.
