They where the worst, my !1 tried for ten dat to go OTR with them after driving regional, they couldnt get the truck ready, qualcom was screwed up, other driver " experienced with them" well I wont exactly sy what they said, but aint no way he would'a taken that piece of sh%& out on the road, dispatch , indifferent, and no one ther on weekends, red tagged 6 times in 5 days, He went with someone else OTR and really lovin it. Good luck to evever gives em a go. God Blesss Ya, ya'll need it

it was reported on the "Overdrive truckers News" one night several months ago, and reported in one of my trucking magazines (LandLine, i believe), that Swift is averaging 1 fatal wreck per month, and the NHTSA, DOT, and some other federal agency is looking deeply into Swift's records regarding driver logs, dispatching proceedures, etc, etc.

Swift is/has ben the "New" J.B.Hunt in hiring student drivers. its been statisically proven, that a new driver (say a 16 year old) driving mom or dad's car will get into X number of crashes due to inexperience.

i was a truck driving school instructor for a short time in the summer of 1998, and i told my students back then (all experienced car drivers), that as a new truck driver, the statistics are the same for being crash prone...

    now, food for thought here.

i was driving one night from my (former) companies Newburgh, NY terminal, back to my home terminal in RI. i was taliking to a swift driver (this basically after they bought out MS Carriers). the driver pay was substaintally cut back. benefits were cut back. miles were cut back.

now the "kicker". the driver i was talking with, had only 3 months of experience.

and he was now a swift trainer..........!!

    the blind leading the blind.

don't kid yourselfs, swift does actually put inexperienced drivers as trainers...........my god...........

by the way. my buddies and i were talking some time ago (many years by todays date), and we were wondering which companies would be going out of business.

here's what we all agreed upon:

    APA, CF, Preston, GOD.

we (and i) believe that NEMF will soon follow, as the "old man", Mr.Shevell is getting on in years, and both his kids do not want the business. we figure, less that 3 years from todays date, NEMF will be a smudge on history....................

by the way, how are we able to tell who is here on the boards...??

most boards i subscribe to have a little "green light" down 0r around the avatars, signatures, etc.

i'd really like to know who's logged in when i'm here.........
