i believe drivers should have a few years, or work for a number of carriers before they start bad mouthing companys, at this time one can judge which carrier is better or not, it all comes down to the location of the carrier and terminals, and there freight area, transam has great long miles from the midwest to the east coast but midnight deliverys and lumpers are a pain, then you have millis transfer, all beer loads, daytime deliverys and shorter runs, i like both, but lumbers and night del. wears on you, millis, short runs little less money no lumbers, schneider, lots of drop and hook but short runs also means an average 15 hr work day,and there on the big cheap side if you ever drove there trucks, but they are in business to make money. when i drove from 93 to 2004 i found it best to work for a company that has lots of drop and hook and stay away from the dock, this will reduce your work day so you can drive more and have more rest time, remember less work make more money, so this spring i plan on leaving a boring factory job of 6 years and get back into driving again, and no it has nothing to do about money, i don't need it, yes looks like i will be going with swift, was looking at central ref. but found out they average 50 people per week in there hiring which is way to high for a 1800 tractor fleet, remember swift has about 10 thousand tractors and 3 thousands fleece trucks, so a big differance in size, 50 thousand trailers, now that sounds like a lot of drop and hook no docks, well not many anyhow
