My biggest issue with Swift or the industry in general is paid miles vs driven miles. Drivers collectively leave millions on the table everyday.
Anyone in this forum post attended the Swift school? Would love some feedback as of how the after training money/miles were.
There are so many threads about the Swift schools on here. All you need to do is a search. In this section alone there must be 15 or so about the Swift schools and mentor training afterwards.
I am 25 and I just got my class C drivers license for the first time in may of 2012, is that going to be a problem?
I have had my license for my personal car for little over a year. Is there any requirements for how long you need to have your personal license? Before getting a CDL?
Out of everything I have been researching about swift. This is by far the most informative bit of information that i have read. Going to PA to do my orientation soon. Cant wait! Thank you for this post. Seriously. It helped me ALOT
Thanks for the insight highflight, very helpful and informative!. I am considering applying to that same decatur, ga, terminal you were at, because i am originally from decatur and its not far from where i live. I worked at aaa cooper for the past 3 years, started as a dockworker, st udied for the cdl, and i acquired my cdl license with hazmat and doubles and triple s endorsements thru the company, in jan 2013, i have been running shuttles and taking weekend runs otr, since jan 2013!! I was being considered for a dedicated jacksonville run, but was denied the position due to a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge from 2006, do you think that swift would consider me for employment? I have applied to all the majors, an i keep getting the same response, its either that i didnt go to a school and they wont hire me because i dont have a certification from a school, or its about the past suspensions on my regular license, which were not even moving violations, but i've been denied by over 20 majors, and i dont understand why? I have no points on my license, no accidents at all, and i have at least 8 months of driving experience
