You remind me that happened to me once. I had to pay cash for fuel once and the receipt I turned in was the one I got when I prepaid. Payroll noticed the word "Deposit" and declined the reimbursement. They said they needed the final receipt after fueling so they could be sure I didn't get any money back. I just erased the word with white out and resubmitted the receipt. They paid it. I had forgotten about that.

Is there a paycheck during Swift CDL training? Is a room provided during Swift CDL training?

There's no paycheck while you are at Swift Academy (their CDL school). You are provided room and board, which you will pay for as part of the package deal.

Once you apply for driving for Swift and go to orientation, you are paid minimum wage. Once you complete the three day orientation and get in a trainer's truck you are paid minimum wage for On Duty and Minimum Wage +$1 an hour for driving time.

You need 200 hours behind the wheel to qualify to test out of your trainer's truck and get assigned your own truck and go solo.

    Do you need one?

    Get real.
You get up early, do a lot of training, then head back to the motel for some sleep.
    Repeat over and over.

If you are not smart enough to set your own curfew and get enough sleep, of what use will you be when you go OTR and control your own hours?

I start swift orientation on Dec 27 in Greer, SC. My question is when will I get my first paycheck from swift?

Do you mean the 26th? I thought they always start orientation on Tuesdays.

If you complete orientation successfully you get minimum wage for orientation. I forget the accounting cutoff date for Swift, it might be every Tuesday. Let's assume Tuesday, then any time in orientation and in training up until 1/1/18 will go into that pay period. That will get paid the following week. All companies have about a week delay to payroll date.

The pay period ends Wednesday at midnight.
We are now paid the following Friday, so 2 days later.

That's an improvement. Are all the orientations starting Wednesday now, or might that only be in Greer?
