I'm wanting to get into trucking but only want to do local trucking. I see that Swift offers cdl training, but I can't find out if they also offer local jobs. Does anyone know?

Swift will not usually put a new driver locally most likely they will put you out on the road for weeks and weeks and make you sign a contract that forces you to stay with them for a time period and in the mean time they will pay you chump change for your services best advice look somewhere else maybe start on the dock with a ltl and then get company training if you only want local

Central will do more regional stuff and more dedicated runs but trust me stay away from swift

And we also have a driver training school at old dominion freight but usually you have to work on the dock for a few months but then it is all company paid and it is only local jobs

but heck even a lot of the dock guys till they start driving are making almost 20/hr
