I actually got a prehire from Averitt I just ain't much on the whole uniform thing but other wise they have the best training and pay where are you located
-
I loved us express, taught me how to drive in the snow!
-
Heres the thing dude, you trying to get people on here to give you the "best" company wont work out very good. Different companies a lot of different things its not just about the CPM. What you need to do is make a list of what you are looking for in a company and then come back and post what you are looking for in a company and ask for companies that suit that.
for example:
solo or team
home time
average miles a week
type of trailer
there detention/layover pay
a lot of terminals
well maintained tractors
etc -
the uniform thing is not that big of a deal, first of all as long as you aren't at a customer or terminal, nobody will ever know you aren't wearing it while driving. I mean its only a polo shirt and black slacks its not like some ridiculous outfit. Im in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
and they have a lot more benefits than just great training and good pay. -
Yeah I agree I mainly want a good company to start with I prefer van or Flatbed apu would be a plus home time I'm good with being out a couple weeks at a time terminals unless their a mega they may not have alot of terminals but it's cool and I wanna go with a company that takes good care of their equipment
-
That's true they do have good benefits and seem like they care about there drivers
-
they have a ****load of service centers is a big seller for me too. I get the impression you are just getting into or out of school so you might not have seen it yet but truck stops and rest stops are crowded as hell especially at night and hard to find parking, with them you can just plan to stop for your 10 at a service center like 4/5 times from what I have seen drivers saying. go on there forum on here and do some reading.
-
Check out maverick or swift flatbed.
Out of you're choices I would go with Milton or swift for flat bed -
I got my CDL September of last year and have been driving local since but I really don't like like I hauled livestock a few years back but on a farm tag at that time so I'm familiar with it all and I do agree that the service center's is a good bonus I believe I'll take another look at Averitt thanks for the advice do you know if there trucks have apu also any info that you have to share about them would be appreciated
