Must've been in the last couple of months. Think it was July or August when I talked to the recruiter and that's what they told me. Good to hear they stopped it though.

Didn't think it was rude either. Seemed on par as the post he was responding too anyway. :biggrin_25511:

I've been hit by two Werner trucks since 2001... the first was driven by a new driver just out on his own. he couldn't see five miles of traffic ahead of him on an ice covered road and hit me at 65 mph... the second guy was THE TRAINER cutting thru the fuel dump area at about 15 mph when he clipped my rf corner... then he backed up and hit me again since he never looked to see what stopped him in his tracks...

Seems the training at Werner is just as bad as all the rest...

I just completed orientation with Swift in Lancaster Texas after attending their academy in San Antonio Texas. I have five years OTR experience but since I have been off the road for 15 years they had me go through the training all over again.

School was awesome met a lot of good people down there. Orientation was well boring but I made it through and got my driver code yesterday. So far with Swift everything has been smooth.

Just sitting here waiting on getting a mentor. Wont be until after Thanksgiving.

    Yes, I'm Swift's version of O/O.

Your training with Swift runs for 240 hours, whenever that time is up. It can be done in as little as 4 weeks...but not very often. Normally, you're looking at 5 to 6 weeks. After you are finished with your mentor, you will be road tested by a different mentor/tester. If you pass that (which you should...but the guy who tested me failed everybody else he tested that day. There were six others testing and I'm the only one he passed.) you may be asked to do some LCQ training (Local Close Quarters) which entails driving around with one of the local drivers for the day. You will have to do a Sims class and some other safety stuff unless it was all done during orientation. Company drivers are required to do a Sims class every year. Or they were when I was company. "Sims" is Swift-ese for Simulator.

Good luck to you. And no, I'm not a trainer. I'm not patient enough for that.

*grins at the thought of Injun as a trainer* I think you'd be a great trainer except for beating your student with a tire thumper and tying him/her to the catwalk.

Of course.........I would use mine as tire chains.
