You either know what you're doing or you don't ... if you do it's easy. If you don't it's hard.
Puppage, MzMandii and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
If you can't pass a test with swift.....please do me a favor and do something else so I can get home to my family. I'm pretty sure swift will pass anyone with a pulse.
CrappieJunkie, Canned Spam, TheDoghouse and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not being mean at all. But if you can back up in a straight line and not side side swipe a trailer in a turn I figure you'd be fine.
TheDoghouse and MzMandii Thank this. -
I used to be a trainer for Swift. The road test is easy. Prove you can shift gears, negotiate traffic, and get the trailer into a slot in the terminal and you pass.
There are trick questions on the written test that tripped up a couple of my "over thinking" trainees. Like what psi oil pressure should your truck have. According to the test the correct answer is 32 psi, forget about reality that every engine is different.
Ask your trainer for help. It's in their best financial interest for you to test out successfully after getting off their truck, if you fail they don't get any bonus from teaching you for 200 hours behind the wheel, you'll be assigned to a new trainer for an additional 50 hours BTW and THAT trainer will pick up the bonuses. -
Oh You Ok I Didn't Get Offended It Was Just A Question I'm Not Worried Bout Neither One Of The Test I Can Drive A Truck And Plus I Have Studied All My Materials I Have Orientation Monday Not Sure How Many Hours I Gotta Do Yet I Hope They Give Me Credit For The Hours I Did Before I Left

So basically they asking you questions that was on the written test at the dmv? -
You need 200 hours behind the wheel to qualify to test out. I would recommend that as you get to 150 hours you talk strategy with your trainer regarding which terminal you want to test out.
Some terminals have a good selection of trucks, like Greer, Memphis, or Phoenix. Others... not so much.
Getting into a good truck should be your top priority when you test out. After that put in a home time request to get your personal effects in the truck. -
MzMandii Thanks this.
