Just got my letter and final paycheck from Swift...It says I quit..Well I'm only out about 150.00$...They lied from the get go...Recruiter said I could have my comfort zone..only go as far north as Pa...O.K. Said I would be paid .36 cpm...O.K. Went through orientation then out with a trainer for Qual-comm and new rules on logging..O.K. Then come in wait 3 days for truck..Then told truck would be in shop as least 3 days...O.K...Finally got Driver Manager assigned and he explained they run 48 states and my comfort zone wasn't available...oh and by the way I only get paid .34cpm..Well I figure better part of valor is to keep mouth shut...I'll go home seeing as how it's right before Thanksgiving and I love TURKEY...Now comes the fun....When I email my DM and explain what I was told he explains to me that "THIS IS THE WAY IT IS"...Needless to say I never got my money back for my bus ticket..I did get my notice from Swift that I quit...I guess it's not to bad tho...I never was actually assigned the truck and I was never dispatched through Swift. So I can chalk this up to experience learned and will know more of what to ask on the next one...Only had my CDL for 11 years...been driving local the last 1 and 1/2 years now I would like to go OTR but I'm old school and don't remember ever being treated this badly before...Hopefully I will get some answers from the decent companies and will be watching the boards for all these bad ones....THANKS everyone for all your posts.HOBO !!!

Sorry to hear that, brother.
It's good that despite the bad posts here, you still risked checking it out for yourself. I'm sorry that it ended badly for you, but we all learn from our mistakes!
I read a lot of bad things about TMC here, and gave them a go anyway, i'm quite happy with them. Of course, that's just me, not everyone will enjoy it.
Good luck finding something my friend, you have your CDL, now.. Jobs are a dime a dozen for ya. -
Well pretty much all recruiters lie about the job (or are given the wrong information some will claim..)..
"""Always get it in writing""
Now far as good companies well this site has plenty of information on many of them... Just have to do a lot of reading and get both sides the pro's and con's
Also
other factors would come into play such as
driving experience
driving record
past employment record
your location
