Your truck is broke so they offer you the biggest pile of crap ever. So then they dont have to pay you breakdown pay. Something about this doesnt seem fair.

Yup going through this right now. Boy they sure want to retain drivers don't they? they tried to do the same for me and now they are refusing to pay breakdown pay.

The more and more I work here the more I wonder what the hell I am doing wasting my time with $300 paychecks and I am willing to run hard and stay out six weeks at a time. Just does not make sense at all.

I would say the samething also some weeks. I dont go home. Have under 2 percent idle. Dont hit anything. Also I am always on time. I guess people with goals and good habits are not what the want. They want someone who can move frieght or sit for weeks. I always get treated like crap here. I am not sure why. They have frieght and newer trucks but they can't maintain or move them. I could run 3000 miles a week if I planned myself. easy

or a $44 paycheck. You do everything correctly, that they want you to do and still get the same result. Which is exactly why I left. I refuse to sit in a truck with a slave wage paycheck and will only tolerate so much from any company.

I can only say, the worst in class (for drivers)........ :yes2557:

I will give it one more month but I will be already looking into other companies. It just amazes me this company even makes money the way they run things. man when I was in business my employees always came first because without them I would not be able to service my customers.

From what I am seeing here I am really surprised when I meet someone that has been with Swift for long periods of time. It just does not make sense at all. I am completely confused right now.

I would at least get your six months in and if you can hang on get a year. I drove OTR for five years back in the 90's well two if you don't count the regional and since I have been off the road so long I have only six months.

Things don't change here soon I will be making my way somewhere else.

I would stay and get your 6 months in. You can look for another driving job now and plan ahead for your departure.

As posted in another thread and repeated many times: You have to make noise in order to be heard. Talk to your DMsl request to be on a different fleet, express your concerns clearly and politely. It's what worked for me in slump times...and has worked for others.

Sorry RTs experience was so negative. Different companies fit different people. You have to find the right fit.

Let's clarify what you have said here. I professionally and politely tried to be heard, even to the point, I changed DM's. Nothing changed, I even tried to address it with the TM. Nothing changed.

Accept the fact, When other drivers are saying the same issues over and over. Tells me the company is flawed, not the driver. It has nothing to do with finding the right fit. They have been in business how long ? and still can't get it right with the drivers ?

The people in charge at Swift do not care and they know at the end of the week. The cdl mill will churn out another dozen or so of company drivers......

once you get 6 months there will be several companies who will hire you. There are a crap ton more once you hit 1 year.
