Yeah, they still do the Road Ready Class. I've been trying to get my butt down to Phoenix so I can take it. Just haven't been given the freight to accomplish that goal yet.

I, am not afraid to do minor repair work to my equipment. I've always been mechanically inclined and used to do mechanic work as a hobby. I could rebuild a chevy 350 with my eyes closed. Trust me.. I know that some of the long wait times come from "I don't know how to replace a light". Not me. I have a whole pile of spare trailer lights in my truck. I have a wiring kit, electrical tape etc. Things I don't have, but need are a splice kit, air hoses for topping off tires etc. etc.

Vice grips.. hah! Yeah, I have a pair of those. They have been invaluable in more ways than one. Even if it was to just hold my tape measure to the back of the trailer while I measured my kingpin/rear axle distance. I have a grease gun too.. I lube my 5th wheel all the time, and have even lubed other locations that looked a bit dry. I avoid having to put my truck into the shop for minor things that I can do myself.

The only communication I don't do on the Qualcomm is things that would just take forever to type out, or that needed immediate attention. Then I call my DM.

I am ALWAYS courteous when I am dealing with people. Even when they are being less than helpful. From my time as a Military Police Officer I am WELL versed with how far a bad attitude gets people. It got them nowhere with me. Cop an attitude and your day is going to get longer and more painful.

I was exceptionally pleasant with a planner I talked to on the phone the other day. Did a favor, and was given one in return- along with a "Thank you for being so helpful" message from them when all was said and done.

    JustSonny Thanks this.

Hey Gladiator, that is all pretty good advice. I'll will have to remember that whenever I have mechanical problems. I do have one question about this citation you got. I'm assuming it's a weight permit, or whatever they call it. How did you get it removed from your record? I just got one from Oregon for not having a "valid weight receipt" at a scalehouse a week ago. If there is anyway to get it removed from my record, I'm all for doing that. Thanks.

    JustSonny and Schmidtrock Thank this.
