Hey guys I'm an "owner operator" (laugh if you want) for swift and I've had a problem with my truck,kenworth t660 studio sleeper 2012 with about 380k on the odometer..I've recently had problems with coolant disappearing and leaking, took it to the shop a total of 5 times now and the problem is still there..they've replaced the entire radiator and hoses and few other things but it still leaks it's been pressure tested.purged and what have you and still leaking!!..I've been doing well with it until this problem,my question is can I ask to be switched out? Like get a different truck or can I just drop this at a terminal and tell them I'm done..I've taken a big hit with this and it seems these shop guys aren't doing their job and just doing the minimum..any advice would help at this point thanks

What motor do you have in it? Have you checked the heater for the bunk and the hoses going to it?

EGR cooler ... Swift/Kenworth are notorious for not being able to get around to fixing a leaking EGR cooler. Once that's fixed the entire DPF system will need to be gone through and cleaned, including the sensors.
As for trading the truck in and getting a new one ... well that depends on one your negotiating ability and your production track record ... but here's the thing ... taking care of a truck requires a knowledgeable maintenance plan, including regular oil analysis and maintenance on the DPF system ... given your track record and level of experience, there is nothing to suggest that you will be anymore successful with another truck than you are with this one. -
The "lease op" who trained me when I made the mistake of hiring on with Swift got to have all kinds of fun with the techs there not bothering to diagnose a leaking EGR Cooler. (Volvo with an ISX)
Wasn't until he got fed up and took his truck straight to Cummins that he finally got his truck repaired properly. (Boy was he not happy about having to pony up the cash for a new EGR Cooler and a DPF cleaning).
OP:
Take your truck to Cummins or a KW Dealer. You'll pay more for work, but sometimes that's not necessarily a bad thing. -

Standard warranty on Cooled EGR components for a Cummins ISX is 2 years/250,000 miles. You can get 500,000 miles if you pony up for an extended plan.Last edited: Apr 7, 2014

I agree with the egr cooler every stock one will eventually leak on a cummins i had the same problem around 200,000 miles i wouldnt try and trade out of truck for this reason get it fixed and ride on cummins is a good motor

Good to know he gets some extended warranty coverage under his lease. Guy I had to occupy a truck with didn't have any warranty coverage left when his EGR cooler decided it was time to leak. Whole thing was quite the saga actually, and I could write a short story on it. A lot of it was the same issue the OP is having: Techs doing trial and error troubleshooting, meanwhile his truck is eating coolant and damage is being done to other subsystem which can (and will) cause even more headaches.
