So far, NOT A FAN of this 22 LT. The engine brake is a joke compared to the cascadia (or even the Pete 579). Is that just how these internationals are? It took me a little while to realize that the engine brake doesn't actually engage until you apply the brake pedal. Ok, I can deal with that, but dropping it to level 3 it only downshifts to around 1700 rpm.

Mine did that but the company had the dealer change the Jake so it worked the right way.

I'd think that would have a truckload of jake-a-bility.

Something needs tweaked in the computer.

    My ISX had excellent jakes.

My Cummins X15 has an awesome jake, very seldom do I need to use the 3rd stage.

This thing seems to be really underpowered also. I thought maybe it was my imagination, I mean I was pulling 40k from phx to Pueblo, CO. Then going from Denver to Cheyenne (empty) I was down to 50mph on some of those "hills". Could that also be improved with some adjustments to the computer? Oh yeah, this is a penske truck.

My 19LT with the X15 had good jakes. They just don't come on until you apply the service brake. It would also outpull any Cascadia I ever drove. But it was spec'ed out at 475hp with 1950ftlbs of torque on the data plate.

That thing would pull a stump out of the ground. With the tree still attached.

In INSITE > Features and Parameters > Engine Brake Control > Service Brake Activation > Disable

I've been 200k+ and haven't had to use service brakes on an off-ramp. The X15 engine brakes are strong. That is with a manual though, the automatics depend a lot on their downshifting to be effective.

I drive a particular 21 year 567 with x15 that if the cruise switch is on, jakes don’t work til you touch service brake. Cruise switch off and it activates soon as you come off the pedal. Maybe just set in the ECM that way I don’t know. And they are stout brakes as well.
