Switching from dry van to tanker

    Hello everyone.

    I have 1 year experience OTR dry van.
    Endorsements: HazMat, Tank, Double-Triple. No restrictions.
    Want to switch to tanker. Not sure chemical or food grade.
    Live on Long Island NY. Will relocate if find good offer.

    Asking for any advice about direction of my career path, and company recommendations.

    Move to a state where you don't have to pay state income taxes.
    Indian River is homeported in Florida, but hires in all 48 states.

    Easy to get a Florida domicile in Florida through Escapees RV Club. Don't have to buy or rent a home either.
    Nice weather year round and no state income taxes.

    I was a Florida resident for almost all of 20 years in the navy. Not only no state income tax, but if you have a personal vehicle the tag fees are low and there's no front license plate.

    Also they are very good about sending out absentee ballots...always received with plenty of time to send back, even when I was on a navy ship in the Pacific.

    I like Florida, but salaries there are lower than in North East region. I’m wondering if the cost of living matches the salaries.

    I lived in Jacksonvile, Mayport, Pensacola.
    Big mistake for leaving Florida. It's a wonderful state to live in and raise a family.
