One driver and his family fled Chicago and moved to Palm Coast, Florida
Home prices and rent have increased because so many people have fled the Northeast and West Coast to move to Florida. Still worth it to live in that beautiful state.
Lots of truckers live in Florida. Many been there all their life and many have moved there and are still moving there.nextgentrucker, RussianBearTruckeR and Loudstacks Thank this. -

I was on a team several years ago that salvaged a Navy CH-46 helicopter that ditched and sank about 100 miles east of the Virginia Capes. We had a submersible capable of working depths up to 10,000', which was good because the aircraft was 9,800' deep. Well on the last day of the salvage, each of us involved signed a 12 Oz Styrofoam coffee cup with our names or callsigns and sent it to the bottom with the submersible. When it came back up, it was still perfectly in the shape of a cup, but had been compressed, as in miniaturized, to where it was maybe 2" tall at the most. I can't begin to imagine what those bodies look like now after being exposed to such incredible pressure. Thankfully, the entire aircrew of the Navy helicopter had successfully egressed the aircraft before it sank and all were fine.wulfman75 Thanks this. -
It was a while ago now if it was a CH-46...even longer on the Navy side compared to USMC. It's good they all got out though...that's really all you can hope for if you have to ditch an aircraft at sea.
Unfortunately I can think of a number of instances where they didn't, including off the coast of VA.Chinatown Thanks this. -
