I said rolling the dice gives spotty results. I didn't say it produces ONLY bad results. Gambling isn't investing. Invest time and effort into getting the info you need, even if you have to talk to someone on a phone call, that other function of the phone everyone has in their hand. You get positive and negative reviews on Indeed.com. Don't take ONE review as gospel truth. At every job you have worked there were days you liked it and days you didn't. There were employees that did well and those that were worthless. Those people all leave reviews. Being an adult is hard you have to weigh competing claims and different opinions and not everybody telling you something would die to make you happy like your parents. It's unreasonable to expect there be one source and the reviews on that one site will be from your perspective and tell you only the info you want to know and not be twisted by the person perspective giving it. I work with 20-somethings. OMG, the kids use to type that didn't they? They want everything handed to them, nothing expected of them, maximum comfort at all times and to hear nothing from anyone except they are superstars because they showed up for work less than an hour late 2 days in a row.

If you want good results, don't wait until 45 minutes before you have to make a choice and do more than ask a question and then leave the house for the next job. Put in as much effort as is necessary to answer the questions you have and don't rush into it. It's hard for everyone to change jobs, but there are ways to do this responsibly and once you get into a field and start making friends who you can trust you and your friends can share info about what looks good and what places are not as good as you hoped. As soon as you get a job, start looking for an emergency job in case your current job ends. NOT EVERYTHING IS TO BE DONE ONLINE. Some people think that cannot be true. It's true. Do you want good results or an easy task? You don't usually get both at the same time. Pick one, but pick like you are responsible for the consequences. Some people I work with think if they have ANY excuse than any work can be avoided and no requirements must still be satisfied. Imagine if the people making the $18 avocado toast and $23 froo-froo coffee drink bailed on doing their job if they could make up an excuse. You probably already know most of this, but if you don't it's something that can help you.

I came from a family that was wealthy on one side and poor on the other. Poor people have very different habits and expectations and get often very different results. Use the internet to learn how to research. Then research until you get enough info to make a decision. Most people coming into trucking do a very short google and rush into whatever company that pops up at the top of the internet search and then quit and look for work in another industry. Don't do what produces bad results, even if lots of other people are doing it. Being comfortable is as much a prison as a concrete room with a guard. Do what works, even if it's uncomfortable. Or don't.
