    I've been driving frieghtshakers and cornbinders so far but Monday I'm flying down to Florida to grab a kw. I know they don't turn as sharp as I'm familiar with. so how's the learning curve with these things?

    Also I still don't feel comfortable backing in between two trucks at a truck stop any tips to overcome that one?

    Have you docked between two trailers? I presume you have.

    Same #### thing only there's a tractor stuck onto the end of them both.

    Move slow, no rush. 8, 10, 19 pull-ups if you need to. No need to be a one-shot Super-Star-Stud. Forget perfection. It doesn't exist. Even Scotties videos are edited.

    cant help you on the first question but on the second one I would say practice and get out and look if your not confident where your trailer is then repeat steps one and two, if this isn't helpful hopefully someone else will come along and give you better advise, good luck and keep at it.

    Kenny's handle like Petes. Once you get used to 'em, you'll never wanna go back to plastic, imho. Take you maybe a day or so.

    Regarding the two trucks at a stop.... you're just gonna have to practice, and get used to it..... or seek out rest areas with the diagonal pull-throughs, unless you'd rather parallel park on the in/out driveways there.. Not being snarky here; just saying. It DOES take time, and practice. Ask someone to spot you at the T-stops... don't be shy. You don't seem to be, anyway! Also, if you drive the vampire shift like me, by CHOICE, it's easier to get in and out by daylight. Just sayin.

    Who are you even driving with/for atm? I thought you were gonna do a training diary; if you did I missed it; sorry. Please post the link~!

    Best wishes to ya, man. Good luck with the FL trip and the KW. The pros will probably outweigh the cons, just take it easy til you find your comfort zone.

    Waiting on updates;
    Be safe~

    No training diary. it was basically a glorified check ride lol they just put me with a trainer to polish me but the trainer went to saftey (guy wears many hats) and said just give him a truck I'm not teaching him anything lol

    And considering I'm out of training and on my own (wanted to wwait to see if I made it this long or if anything happened or whatnot that would make me not want to share to company name but it's all positive so...) I'm driving for Leonard's express out of Farmington ny. I'll be dispatched out of the north Carolina terminal tho. It's a super wierd adjustment from swift. haven't even seen a GPS route sense I left swift lol. I choose what route I take and they don't care as long as I'm on time. fuel wherever I want (as far as location they do have a list of approved places they love pilot but hate loves) mostly new equipment (going to go pick up a brand spanking new kw :D ) they have a very super strict no idle policy tho. but instead they have apus and good inverters. very well practiced open door policy aand great office staff at hq. family run company and the family all leave there doors open even during meetings (haven't met them yet tho) they have about 350 active trucks right now but the current environment suggests that numbers about to get a lot bigger. It's mostly reefer but they do dry van as well, I've only hooked reefer units so far tho. not insane amounts of money but I am getting a very generous sign on bounus (paid in instalments over a year at ccertain intervals) and a decent raise from my cpm at swift. actually I had a small issue with my pay earlier today (they forgot to pay me o_O ) and payroll issued me a tcheck on the spot.

    Only real complaint about these people sis that one of the lazy boy recliners in the drivers lounge has a loose spring ttat sticks ya a lil bit.
    The trucks are non smoking bbut I vape and there are driver facing cams. but your perfectly allowed to (and incuradged to) cover them anytime every time logged off duty or sleeper. they also operate a very nice driving school ranging from cars to class a.

    I drove a Freightliner when I was learning for my license. Had KWs and Petes since.....they can keep the Freightliners.

    practice, practice, practice. Park next to another truck with nothing on blindside. Keep doing it until it's easy. if you avoid backing the seeming difficulty increases. Back into a spot everytime you stop, even if you don't need to stay.

    How was the learning curve on the longer wheelbase? easy to pick up and just remember to swing a bit wider?
