    If you run local, and are only required to log 8 days or fewer in any 30 day period, you can log on paper.

    If you're a drive-away/tow-away operation and the vehicle you are driving is the load, you can log on paper.

    If the model year of your truck (per the regulations) or engine (per the guidance) is a 1999 or older, you can log on paper.

    If none of those apply to you, you probably ought to be running an ELD. There are a few other specific exemptions that may or may not apply (such as livestock), but those all have expiration dates...if they aren't renewed, they will be gone.

    If your ELD is acting goofy. Even if you didn't get logged right. And it won't let you change it. You can use paper logs.
    Yes... peoplenet does push buttons all on it's own.
    Also people make mistakes with devices like ELD's. That doesnt make them a regulations violator.
