I gave up on Yellow Freight, as of yet still have not got me any dock work. I guess when they say "casual dock worker" they are not kidding.

So I did get officially hired by Sygma yesterday!! My start date is July 30th. I am being brought in as a Driver Helper/Driver, and once I shake out the rust I will be a full time driver.
I took the road test yesterday and did pretty good, I shifted up fine and made most of my downshifts except 2. I managed to back it up, but it took me a couple tries.
So I'm very happy, after almost 6 months since TT school, I finally landed a full time, good paying local job!!:biggrin_25525:

    Socy Grad Thanks this.

I haven't been driving for 6 months at all, about a week is it. Since my road test in Feb 2008, I drove for Swift for a week and it was a nightmare.

I already went out for a route ride with them, started at 11pm and didn't get done until 12pm the next day. It was hard work, but after doing dock work for 20yr really not that bad. Hell, we had 1600cs that night, I used to unload trucks that had 4000-5000 at 50lb each!!

After 16 years of foodservice im getting out, it's hard on your body and the company dose not care about the driver's at all. All they care about is a warm body in that seat! I E a driver with little or no experience.. good luck..:biggrin_25525:
