Im currently furloughed from the railroad and I just obtained my class cdl. I was thinking about applying to SYSCO but I heard all the driving positions are teams. I was under the impression that sysco drivers worked alone. Does anyone know if this is true? Thank you
Sysco team?

You're thinking of Sygma, now they are teams and I believe a sister company to Sysco.

Sysco drivers work alone at least here where I'm from, from what I know sysco pays really good money and you will earned every penny as you will work your tail off. If any more questions @Chinatown can guide you better.
Good luckpattyj and carramrod32 Thank this. -
I believe McLane does run teams as well.carramrod32 Thanks this.

Same here they work alone. Also if they only hires teams I would think that would be mentioned in their many ads posted thruout the net.

May have to do with location and routes. If they have remote routes that are 8 - 10 hrs out and back, they may run them as teams.
I live in the mid Atlantic and it's all solo daycabs that I have seen. -

It's a lot of work . Good money .you work alone .
15-18 stops -
Sysco owns Sygma, Sysco local solo, Sygma mostly teams and some solo. Sygma likely have to have seniority to get solo routes.
Mclane grocery teams, Mclane foodservice solo. Two different divisions out of different locations.carramrod32 Thanks this. -
SYGMA is Sysco's chain division doing chain restaurants the trucks are warehouse based and are teams because they may travel a state away to do there route, but they need to leave do the route and get back to the warehouse quickly so the truck can be reloaded and sent out again.
Sysco on the other hand is the main company it is the broadline division the trucks are warehouse or drop lot based and the routes are way more local in fairly concentrated area's you go out from the yard or warehouse do the stops in what ever local you have might be a county or so away from your warehouse or yard, big deal, and then when it's done you go back to where you started.
Those routes are done in a day it's all local work you are home every night. It's like going to work everyday.
